Tried Lake poinsette today and got one bite near the bridge.  other than that I got a sunburn!!  Saw water temps hit over 94 degrees in a back creek off the main lake.  this is gettign really tough out there.  no bites anywhere I go lately.  Thru a lipless,  a few jerkbaits, senkos, flukes, topwaters, and broke one of my crucial rods...  and you know it didnt break ona fish!!  Rod locker cover came down and slammed it.  What a day!

But dumb as I am Ill be out there again tomorrow... Never give up!

LOL  couldn't help but laugh at the subjet because we are all looking for that one bait that works all the time.   ;D

Anyway I don't get to fish down in FL that much, a few times a year and all up in the Pan Handle, with water temps close to your and hotter than that at times here in LA most drop weight size and use smaller baits I have had some good luck going to heavier weights 1/2 to 3/4 ounce and bigger plastics like a 10 inch worm or full size brush hogs I'm looking for the reaction bite and think the faster fall works better for me.

Also in the hot water I don't ever use a jerk bait, for me that is more for cold water in the late winter early spring.  Did you try and top water baits?  Buzzbaits around grass or stumps, lay downs and such can pay off early morning or late in the after noon.

Good Luck

I have had the same thing up this way. We got some really bad rain the last two days so I think the water temps will have dropped some. I am going for bass but will have a bluegill back up plan. They say if it summer bass fishing gets tough then go to the slabs. I will be out there at daylight and sending some good mojo to you. I am dying to get some hook ups on my hat cam to post.

I hate doing both, but C-rigging and drop shots both work great if you can find deeper water...

Good luck man...

We are all feeling it right now...
