sawgrass non catching report

Hit Sawgrass sunday afternoon to run the boat and wet a line.... well boat ran good and about all i did was wet the line...ran the east/west canal to around the 2nd pump hit the n side and s side of canal but found no one home...all I managed was 1 little dink on a senko...threw everything in the tackle box but could not buy a bite...ran back past the ramp to the n canal to the bend just n of the n boat ramp and again no one home...called it a day.....was glad the boat is running good but the bite is non existant..if any one has any info out there please pass it along because this guy is struggling with the summer catch

Thanks for the report Jay.Saves me gas going out there and getting nothing.Gas and money are in short supply being jobless for 8 months.I went up to Lox last week in my truck to see what was happening there and all i saw was grass and weeds everywhere.I dont think the bite was on there either.
I will probably resort to fishing C-14 canal and its branches as it will only require a 3 minute drive and i can run the trolling motor all the way.

Next step will be unloading all my fishing stuff and boat to make ends meet.My wife keeps trying to convince me NOT to sell as i will regret it later but its depressing seeing 1000's of dollars sitting around doing nothing but collecting dust.

What did you guys do to all the fish since I have been out of commission?

I think I am going to pull the boat out of the warehouse this evening and put it in the garage and charge everything up since it's been about 2 months since I used it. Doctors said I had to wait 6 weeks before I could do anything and it was 6 weeks last Friday. Did an ultrasound today but they didn't say I had to wait for the results.

So I think I am going to hit Holiday early in the morning just for a couple hours see if I can get the daybreak bite and see how my body takes it. I'll post on it tomorrow afternoon.

No prob SIG....c-14 should be good anyways....with this heat the peacock should be biting if anything....Preston glad to hear you are doing ok and finally getting back out on the water.....wish I would have went to holiday instead of sawgrass....can usually muster atleast a couple of fish out there....I don't know what is going on with the fish lately....I can't seem to figure them out right now...super hot, water levels up ,and a constant flow of water pumping everywhere...don't mean to sound stupid but does anyone know how the pumps work??are they screened or do the fish flow through them with the water??? i am thinking about retireing for the rest of the summer...can't seem to figure the fish out right now....slow dragging worms etc and still can't get on a decent bite....well good luck Preston..let us know how you do...

Boat is charging and I plan to be way south throwing a cast before 6am. I am not going to fish past 10. May even be earlier. So that should help with the heat. I'll let you guys know.

You know Preston...The only Damn thing in that boat is a Chug Bug...And he has plenty of them. Funny thing is he always catches fish on it.LOL

yeah he is good with that thing for sure.....that's where i will be hurting in the tourny's matt has gotten pretty good with the chug....i need to tie one one and make myself stay with it for a while..get some confidence in it...i always throw the spook while he is chugging.....Preston let us know how you did out there....did the old body hold up...

Leave you guys alone for a couple months and look what happens. LOL.
Well, I got a late start since I couldn't get to sleep around 3am and hit #8 to the bend fast with that crazy current. There was not a ripple on the water and the current was flying. Picked up a handful of dinks on of course the bug since I didn't get one hit on a fluke, horny toad, drop shot, scum frog or crank bait. I was burning up by 8am. Very sore bending up and down changing rods so I picked up and ran to the Miami Canal where not a single bite or movement anywhere. I was going to drop shot the ridge down at the end of the canal where there is a deep drop off and they stage there but just wasn't feeling that well so I picked up and went back.
There was not one other boat and didn't see a single gator. Even went to that one spot that hundreds of feeding bass are in the Miami Canal, when you stop the boat a million bubbles come up from the algae bottom. I have never caught a fish anywhere when that occurs.
Going this weekend to 41 on the alley I think.

Hey Jay if you go out post and maybe i can meet you somewhere.Would be nice to put a face the postings.I have appts Mon and Tues and maybe a job interview late week.

If the heat index drops below 103 this afternoon I'll go out and fire up the ole yamaha to see if it lives on the hose. It's never let me down she good ole girl being made in 1986

Definitely let me know where you are going. I will meet you guys out there. I am going to put on the 2 inch spacers on the jackplate in the next day or two and want to see how it runs with 10 inch set back. I'm good all week. Just need to know before 5pm the day before to get the boat out of the warehouse. I was actually thinking the alley on the south side just west of the toll plaza. Go in at Holiday. That place had a lot of small ones but hundreds. Just something to have some fun with.

Hey Guys,
The fishing been real tough up here incentral florida too! Liek they turned off all at once. Did manage 3 last week at the Butler chain but they were hard fouth just to get bit.
Past few days been dodging lightning with teh afternoon storms and still no fish. But Ill be back at it tomorrow somewhere... to try it again. Never Give Up!

Caught 2 of those fish on a rattletrap, other on a senko. seems only small fish will nibble on slow rolling worms and that is all i can get even that nibble on. Nothign else is working!!

I guess I haven't been missing much not fishing....I have read some nice reports on Lox though. I haven't been there in a long time. I have been fishing out of my pond hopper and have been catching bass just none very big. Guess all the bass over 2lbs are starving themselves
