I like the 1000 yd spools on Trilene XT for my spinning rods, I say the 1000 yd size because the line doesn't have near the memory. I like Trilene because its strong, abrasion resistant and casts really well. Always use a palomar knot ;)

HoosierAngler

I like the strength of Spiderwire but I don't like the way it binds itself on the spool. It casts well when you can get it to cast, due to the binding thing. For Flippin', it'd probably be awesome! A palomar knot works excellent with it.

HoosierAngler

Stren is a great fishing line, at least it was before Berkley bought it--I haven't tried it since the buy out. I found it worked real good on baitcasters but was a little course for spinning applications.Palomar knot always ;)

HoosierAngler

I got to try the new Mossy Oak fishing line this weekend, working pretty good so far. It cast well and seems pretty abrasion resistant. I haven't got to test the strength yet, I didn't catch a fish on that rod lo

HoosierAngler

Silver Thread--don't like it. It wasn't very strong and had very little abrasion resistance.

you would really be surprized how strong the mr crappie line is from bass pro i use the camo 8lb on my spinning reels.
god grant that i may live to fish until my dying day and when it comes to my last cast i then most humbly pray when in the lords safe landing net i"m peacefully asleep that in his mercy i be judged as good enough to keep. member BASS,ILLINOIS FEDERATION

Stren Power Braid- I liked this stuff because it was strong and you could throw it into the nastiest cover. I haven't seen it in the stores for awhile though. If you get a backlash in it though, good luck cutting it out--tough stuff. Palomar knot always ;)

cable guy

berkly transition dont like it because any where you have had a kink in the line from a backlash it will break, i had 17lb breaking on 12" fish a foot out of my reel.,other than that its great

Trilene XL- casts smooth as glass for a mile, but is prone to breakage. Check your line and re-tie often.
