A little Potomac fishing report

Hello Freedom Anglers.

Decided to play hooky today and head down the mighty Potomac. Arrived at Smallwood at 6 am and much to my surprise there were NO OTHER trailers on the lot....unbelievable....maybe 6 launched there all day. What a blessing.

I took my son and a friend. We started not too far from the marina with topwater. The frog is off for me this year. My buddy got 4 real quick on a popper and the topwater shut down after that. We moved around a bit and changed baits as the sun blared down all day.

All of us managed a limit , but no real big fish. Each bag would have been between 8-11 lbs for us. Caught lots of fish in a few areas. Nice to catch a few fish for a change. lots of good fun.

Here is a pic of me and my son with 4 Potomac fish. gotta savor those moments.

Didnt see much evidence of the fish kill but what we did see was just as alarming. All of the pads down thru the 6 mile area are dead. brown and dead.....anyone know why...wasn't like that last summer.

YEAH SKEETERS HOT RIGHT NOW ! DID ANYONE NOTICE HE KEEPS HIS LURES COVERED UP TILL HE GETS UP ON PLANE ? PROBABLY ONE OF THOSE CUSTOM LURES OFF E-BAY. I SAW HIM SPRAYING THEM DOWN WITH SOMETHING.... I THINK IT'S DEER URINE.

running low on deer urine. any extra rum juice laying around??

looks like we all may get a little wet on Sunday morning..don't forget the rain gear.

Roy, I changed line on about 4 rods before the Potomac and all of those need to be re-strung again. All twisted. might need your help. hahaha

HEY SOUNDS GOOD TO ME I WENT AND BOUGHT A NEW BOTTLE OF PEANUT BUTTER AND A BAG FULL OF CHICKEN FEATHERS CANT WAIT. AT LEAST WHEN THEY DO BITE THE HOOK WILL BE STUCK IN THE TOP OF THEIR MOUTH.
