im going to get started on mine the first of the year i might order my jack plate from bass pro this week i thank if i run 1/4 or a tank that will save alot of weight and the opt will keep my boat value to

Let me know how the 1/4 tank thing works out for ya. My Opti sipped gas when I had the OEM 19P blackmax on there with no jack plate. Now at full burn, it gulps it like a freshman at a frat party.

I couldn't say. But I can tell you that the 22 laser wants to be at 6" below the keel, the 23 trophy at 5" below the keel, and the 25 trophy at 3" below the keel. these are driveshaft measurments of course. have you been to my seven page thread on BBC? Its likely that any question you could conceive would be answered there.

... remember the jackbplate will move the center of balance rearward and also allow the motor to leverage/lift the hull a lot more. raising the motor on the transom it likely not going tonget you similar results. The icing on the cake comes from the .25" adjustments that the transom can't get you.

I just picked up my 2011 PT190 and have the 115 opti pro xs. I have not ran it full throttle yet but once I do I'll let everyone know. Its got the Laser II with a 22 pitch.

Did anyone do a hydraulic steering conversion on theirs?
Also if I went with a jack plate how much offset should I get?

Sweet set up. If you put a plate on there and a trophy plus i bet you will see low 60's one person/light load with a 24 pitch.

The guy who helped me set up my boat set up his sons 190 with a 115 opti. He is close to 60 with a 23 trophy and a 5 inch plate. Around 3" below pad. That 115 XS is the best choice IMO for the 190. Weighs less than the 125/135.

Set that thing up! I want to see what it will do.

No, them were readings off of my GPS the speedo is actually quite close though +/- 2 either side of what the GPS says. I'd like to go 60 mph like the one fella was saying, that would be SWEET!

The guy who helped set up Soflnatives boat and my own can be reached on BBC. His name there is 2500, or Jeff if you PM him. I spoke with Jeff a few weeks ago on the phone and they settled at 4.75" below pad with that 23 Trophy Plus and a tourney load on their 190/115 combo. Hope that gives you a good place to start.

They are running 58 with two guys and a tourney load and can break into the 60's with a light laod and one guy... no prop work done yet other than a balance. You should have a real rocket with that ProXS when you get it dialed in. He is running a 5" plate but I can tell you that the 5.5" is also a winner on the 190.

I wonder how the manuvering/handling would be on a PT 190 going 60mph? I would love to re-power and go to a 115 pro xs, although my 90 Opti is alright for now. Still another 13 - 15 mph would rock!

lol, not good ill bet. when up on the keel its just point and shoot for me. trying to turn would be dangerous. I too would love a 115 pro xs or 135 opti. I may sell my 90 this spring.

Yea, I have thougt of that as well. Wonder how much I would get for an 06' 90 Opti with just over 50 hrs on it? How do they even determine the value of marine outboards anyhow?

A good starting point is NadaGuides.com. It'll give you an idea of how much money your motor is worth. Then it's up to you how much you want for it.

That's the thing about NadaGuides. It gives you a starting point in pricing your motor. From there on, it's up to to you decide what value to place on it based on operating hours, as well as what you think someone will actually be willing to pay!

Just to bring this old thread back from the dead.
Has anyone jacked and propped a 190/195 with a 90 4 stroke on it? Thats what I will probably wind up with come the first of the year and wondering if I can use these numbers as comparisons, or should I expect it to be completely different.

it will be different jack plates and two strokes go together

Do you still have Tracker 175. I have a 2001 tracker 175 with a 75 hp elpto that I am going to make a 90hp elpto. Same engine, different carbs and prop. Just wanting to know your results, & what prop I should use?
