9-13-05 Structure/cover and how you fish it

When fishing glassy surface water on a hot later summer evening, I like to use a small yozuri 3d arms swisher

When fishing a rocky bank I like to fish a blue and black yozuri 4d agile gobie.

On flats with stumps and logs I burn a chart/wht. spinner bait bumping the stumps.

In the spring I like burning a rattle trap over grass in 2 to 5 ft of water.

In the Fall I like to burn a Baby 1- in the back of creeks.

I like to pitch a jig on the back side of eddies or anything that breaks the current in the river.

When bass are bedding I cast a 1/2oz. Johnson Silver Minnow ( gold color ) with a Gost Baits zipper worm trailer in the pepper grass flats.

Slow roll a spinnerbait down a point.

When fishing cypress trees, I like to pitch or cast a spinnerbait several feet past the tree and bring it back...bumping the tree or letting it flutter as it comes past the tree.

When fishin points on weed lines I slowly twitch a pearl/blk back Zoom fluke along the edges.

I like to walk-the-dog with a Zara spook along the edge of lilypad fields.

Fishing brush tops, I like to pitch a worm in the middle of the brush top and just use the rod tip to bounce the worm up and down over the brush.

I like to slowly swim a floating worm under overhanging tree limbs on a hot summer day.

For fishing docks, I like to pitch a worm at each of the pilings...especially the pilings that are several feet under the dock.

Main lake points in the fall have been a good producer for me by using Rapala DT series crankbaits.  I'll throw whichever of the series as necessary across these points be it 4, 6, 10, or 16 foot runners.

When the water temps are above 80 I like to swim a wobble-head close to any vegetation. The warmer the water, the slower the retrieve.

I like to work a Rapala over submerged weed beds, espcialy the edges.

I like work fish hydrilla in the fall by slow rolling a spinnerbait thru it.

in heavy cover I like to Glass and brass a black and gold nories texas rigged and twitched for sound and presentation.

Over heavy vegitation I like to float a Zoom Watermelon Seed horny Toad, and retrieve twitchin the tip.  If that doesn't get em, I texas rig with light weight to sink into the greenery and twitch retrieve.

When fishing rip-raft either early in the morning or late inb the evening I like throwing a chartruse and white Sqworm Tackle double blade buzz bait and burn it along the shore line
