Is any one farmiliar with or have personal footage/pictures of any nitro bass boats that have been damaged or severly water logged/sunk? and the story behind it?

Ive got a nitro and have no problems...

but any of the fiberglass rigs will hold up fine, the only stories I think ur going to hear are the "I forgot to put the plug in" or going to fast and smashing into something and if they hit it hard enough to sink/splinter the boat into little pieces, I dont think they will be around to tell you the story.

Id say about 99.9% of the stuff your looking for is driver error and doesnt apply to just nitro's but any boat.

I was out fishing on the potomac last year or the year before when a guy nailed a piling , split the boat in 2 and killed him and his passenger. that was a Tr-21 triton. It can happen to anyone. accidents and/or common sense aint brand specific.

I agree with Bane... I have a Nitro as well. Like Bane said 99.9% is driver error. I have seen people drive very stupid and reckless. Some people just do not understand the importance of boating safety. If you have never driven a boat before learn to drive before you max your boat out. Learn how to watch the water to prep for any small of large wake. The more you drive the more comfortable you will become with speed, but remember the key to boat safety is learning your eqiupment. Yea you will see a lot of people driving fast but then again either they know their eqiupment or they have no regard for safety.

But the main thing to remebr is to inspect your boat everytime you pull it out of the water, damages to your hull can really mess up your day but I have only heard about things like that never saw it. Take care of your Nitro and she will take care of you!!

I have a nitro, I have no promlems, but a friend of mine is going rounds with Nitro, On his first trip which I was with him, he cracked the hull, and split 2 srtingers . We never hit anything, we were in a channell thats over 30 feet deep. I know the lake well, we hit one wake, as it was the boats maiden voyage the break in was still in effect, the speed never even came close to max, we hit a top of 40. I felt the boat wasnt handling well so we pulled her out of the water and found the cracks as well as the boat was full of water . I have found 22 more cases of the same thing in other Nitros, Nitros stand point is make a claim on insurance, His carrier alstate has even had the boat checked by an independant , there are only 57 minutes on the computer. I had just put a deposit on the same boat a Z-9, The other folks have gotten an attorney and are filing a class action law siute. While I just got my deposit back and went over to champion. I have been a steady cutomer since 1995 but afetr the way they have treated him and the others (who all have the same boat, two of them have a 225 instead of a 250 so its not the motro) All of the boats have less than an hour except 1 which has 3. We were just trying to find any info that may help or footage of the same or like damage.

Thats terrible... is there a website in regards to this lawsuit or anyone who is involved? I'd like to read up on that. Sounds like Nitro Customer service is getting worse and worse...

Just cruised the internet and couldn't  find anything regarding any complaint regarding Nitro failures.  Need some info where to look.

there wasnt a specific website , they are going to set one up through the attorney. I just spoke to a guy who had the same problem on an o8 z9 through this site and he says Nitro replaced his boat no questions asked, but as he stated he had ordered it through Bass Pro but was going out with the Boat manager and had not taken delivery of the boat yet, he said he had to wait about 8 weeks for the replacement but that his new one has had no problems. I am wondering if this problem is related  to that new fusion process they came out with?

its possible I suppose, whenever a manufacturer changes something theres bound to be bugs in the system somewhere. Very unfortunate your friend is having to go through this to try and get it fixed.

When im done with my boat in the next few years I will most likely be getting a different brand anyway, not saying I dislike nitro but its what I could afford/beable to tow with the truck I had at the time. Now its time to step up to the 20-21' class  :)

If I fished lakes like Erie or lakes with reputations for bad weather I believe i would pay the extra money for a longer boat. But I dont believe I need much more than an 18 today, I fish out of a 18'4 nitro and it has taken me alot of places the 21 footers cant maneuever into. Also its weight has been more of an advantage than disadvantage than I believed it would be. let the waves get up a little and you start seeing the Bullets,Gamblers,Blazers, and tritons slow way down and the old Nitro 884 still plugs along around 55. But when you get back to the hill your kidneys and gonads feel like sugar ray went 10 3 minute rounds with free licks throughout. I have learned to deal with the bone jarring impact at 55 but its still no fun. She has made it in to weigh in when most other boats were late(I passing them along the way) The last time this happened the only boats on time were a ranger, 4 nitros, and 2 champions. I did notice that the ranger guy was soaked, the nitro guys were a little damp including myself, but the guys in the champions that had made a run from the extreme north end of the lake were completly dry, I guess they were both better at avoiding spearing the waves. Or the gunnells ride that much higher.  But when the blazers and bulletts came in it was a wild sight, 2 top caps cracked, several gelcoats with cracks, alot of nav eguipment damaged, and alot of drenched men in bad moods.
