So my rear seat post wont budge... Its got that goofy style with the piece of black plastic that acts as a lock, not the screw in style. But I tried to remove it and its somehow gotten bound inside the "cup" it goes into in the deck.

Ive tried everything from wd40 in it to a pipewrench to try to spin it. Im wondering if my only option is to try an unbolt the mount from the deck and try to remove it that way. But if thats the case, I would imagine I would have to remove the carpet from around it and I really dont want to mess up my carpet. I seen 2 bolts in the livewell for the mount, and im assuming the other 2 are behind the gas tank, which have no access what so ever to. Id like to switch over to screw in mounts for seat posts but I cant find any small enough with a offset to clear the livewell lids, that I could just bolt down onto the deck ~rant ~xyz ~xyz

anyone else have any suggestions?

I had the same issue. I was able to get mine out with a pipe wrench.  Push the button and twist and pull up.  took a while, but I got it and tore up my seat post too.  After I got it out, I took a sanding bit on my dremel and gently sanded out the inside of the cup.  No more problems now.  Good luck

yup I finally got it out to, after I came in an cooled off I went back out after it. Now I gotta grind away the inside to get it to just slide in like its supposed to now. Going to do it for the front one aswell since its getting pretty tight.

was able to put the pipe wrench on and push it with my leg to finally move it and just had to keep working it.

I've helped several friends with that type of seat post that was stuck.  Personally, I'd like to grab the genius that designed that particular piece of fecal matter and have HIM unstick the seat!  I'd be willing to bet that there'd be a re-design in a hurry!

I bought a Tuffy boat that had those pedestal bases.  I did manage to find an adapter that fit (I think it was for a ski pole) into the garbage base and replaced the pedestals with 3/4 pin style posts.

yea the design is horrid, Why cant they just all be screw in bases/poles. would make things go soo much easier.
