I met up with FishHawk, FishHawks father, brother and his brothers girlfriend this morning out of Fort Hunter launch.  We couldn't have asked for a nicer day.

The day started partly cloudy and air temps in the 50's.  FishHawk got there before I did so met him on the water.  Water temps started around 56 degrees and warmed all day.  The east shore water was dirty with less than a foot visability.  The west shore side was cleared with visibility of several feet and a beautiful greenish tint.

The fishing was slow to start.  We didn't see anyone catch a smallie (after I showed up anyway).  I hooked up with one about 15".  FishHawk will be along to post a pic of it later.  I caught 2 more short bronzebacks in the same area.  Then we all headed north of the statue and fished water new to us all.

FishHawks dad finally got on the board with a nice smallie here.

Thanks for the cigar by the way.  Three of us with big stogies looking like we were in the Susquehanna Sopranos. lo

After FishHawk decided to run further upriver, I hooked into this nice 17.5" chunk.

About 20 minutes later FishHawk called me to tell me he was checking some sandy bottom areas looking for prespawners.  While talking to him I felt a heavy weight and told him (excitedly) this is a toad.  Well I put the phone down, grabbed the net and was rewarded with this beauty 19 1/4" (estimating well over 4lbs)

She was the last fish I caught, so yes, I saved the best for last (so to speak).

All of my fish were caught on tubes in 4'-10' of water.

Here is Fishhawk saying Hi to Ultimatebass.com

Here are some of my pictures from this past weekend.  PAXpress showed us a few tricks in some of those big eddies.  It was good to get together with PA again.
I did catch 1 smallie on a suspended jerk.  The catching part of today was pretty slow, but what a perfect day to be out on the river.

Here's my first fish of the day

Here's PA with one of his catches:

and PA also saying hello to everyone out there in Ultimate Bass Land:

On, a side note:  Here's a really nice hawg my old man caught up above Duncannon two weeks ago:
