weed guards

As I was looking through my lure componant catalogs at the weed guards, it came to me that there isn't any weed guards made out of florocarbon. It got me to thinking about the pros and cons of said material for this purpos. Do you guys have any input on the matter as to if it would be a good weed guard material?  Things to think about...cost, visibility, memory, longevity, hooking ability. and who, if anyone, makes them, or who could we get to?
