Opinions on what reel to use for pitching/flipping?

-Steve-

I use a spinning reel, for me it's easier than fixing a backlash (what I do with a baitcaster). That's just me though...Steve

The Bassmeister

A Revo SX 7:1 gear ratio and 24Lb. drag to get 'em out of the heavy cover.  This is an awesome reel and I own 3 of them.  Not trying to start anything but, I would put them up against any reel out there. Just an honest opinion.  Good luck! ~gf

Curado 200E7 with a Carbontex drag washer upgrade. ;)

Any reel with a 7:1 ratio. The high speed for two reasons. First to pull fish out of cover quickly and when pitching you can quickly get your bait back for another pitch.

I am very partial to Shimano the new curado E7 will be perfect. The drag upgrade isn't necessary but will improve the drag.

I like the Shimano Castaic SF

There isn't a better reel for Flipping and I also use a castaic, however if you could only have one set up that you flipped and pitched with I would go with the 7:1

I also have a CoreMFGV which has a similar flippin feature and is 7.1:1

Seriously at times I pitch with every reel I own. I am a greenie fan and use several of them. The Citica D reels are also excellent reels for pitching and can be had on E=Bay pretty cheap.

I would suggest an Ardent f-500.   Plenty of drag to pull them out of the thick grass and they are only $149.99
