I saw on another post that Karl said he was going 80 mph plus ...................nate did you and him get it out of the chime walk ??   That is pretty bad ass 80 mph   :help:

Buzbait88

I don't think he's gone 80 yet.  I think 74 at 5200rpm before he gets scared.  So he's got 600rpm yet.  I think he'll touch 80 if he can drive the chine walk.

Yeah should be able to the skeeter's that i know that have that motor on them go in the upper 70's

Buzbait88

most boats with a 250 will go upper 70's.  People with Karls Same boat are going 75-76 with a 225 so I think 80 is possible.  Even if he isn't not that many people are going to be passing him at 73 and he's going to be getting decent gas mileage not running it WOT all the time.

I know that is why i was excited to hear that he got 80 mph cause i thought someone had shown him how to drive out of a chime walk and didnt know that he had done that yet

Buzbait88

Maybe you should show him how.  TO be honest I don't think he has really tried to tame it much.  Just kind of going through break in and cruising around.

Yeah i told him that i would help him out..................i am trying to convince him to put the hot foot in there  ~b~ ~b~

I dont think id drive it WOT without the hotfoot

-Shawn-

I am with Adam.   when you are running that fast it is just not safe without a hotfoot.  :shocking:

I agree Shawn obviously...........i think it should be standard on all bass boats it is so much safer to be able to run with both hands on the wheel and have your trim right there and the gas controlled by your feet...............I think i will be able to talk karl into one help me out shawn  :help: :help:

Haven't hit 80 just yet  lo I'm looking for a hotfoot  ;) Gorman an I were doing 71 mph over a 2-3 foot chop yesterday and it was as smooth as silk  ;D I slapped hi and pointed to the GPS which was just passing 70 right before I cut to the ramp, when we sat her down he said "wow, the river sure calmed down quick", thats when I pointed back out to the channel where there was still 3 footers rolling  lo Never had a boat run that smooth over a little chop before  ~shade

Crigger Craw

That is the beauty of a 20 foot boat karl it is amazing the way the boats can run over chop like that

Steve Wags offered to give me a few driving lessons and thinks we'll break the 80 mark. I need to get the hot foot in before we do that though.

73.5 mph @ 5200 rpm with 800 rpm left to go and a whole lot of trimming  lo Wags told me today that when it gets out of the water I'll know because that hull gets way out and launches. Lower 80's aren't out of the question  ;D

Buzbait88

2 footers is the perfect chop for setting speed records.   >:D

shoot if you can drive Murphs skeeter you can drive anything that chinewalks.  Joe makes it sound like its just horrible and pretty dangerous when they are running it.  Sounds like you need to teach Murph how to drive it.

Buzbait88

Well I for one am not like that.  I give you a hard time about owning a skeeter, cause I have a champ, but in all honesty I'll probably be in a skeeter or maybe a legend when I can afford one, but yeah I know what you mean.
