Trying to find out what people are topping these boats out at with speed.  I'd like to hear from people with a Z-7 with a 200 opti and a 175 opti.  Also,  how do you guys like the ride on these?

Its a fairly fast boat.  I'd say your looking at about 60-62 with the 150 around 65 with the 175 and close to 70 or a little over with the 200.  I've heard its a going riding boat, but I have never been in one personally(been passed by a couple lo)  I looked at them for a while at the sports show and they are priced pretty reasonable to.

Talked to a couple of guys that own the Z7. The 150 Optimax will run 69-73 trimmed out ect. I'm planning on buy the 2010 Z8 w/225, best price going for 20ft boat.  Everyone I talked to says they are a good riding boat.

I just don't think a 150 optimax will run that quick on a GPS maybe it shows that on the boat. Nitro does make a great boat but I would get the 225 on it

nitro 898

Just for reference my 898 tops out at about 62 mph with a 150 EFI on it. The 898 is right around the 21 foot mark.

I bought it new in 2007 and have had not a single problem except the screws on the rub rail coming loose. Nothing a screw driver couldn't fix.

I recently ordered a new Z7 with a 200.  From other owners, the 150 is in the low 60's.  Some with 175's are seeing mid to high 60's and with a 200 they are a 68 to 74 mpg boat via GPS.  The ride is a good ride for under 19 foot and the vast majority are very happy with their rigs.  the 200 (or even 175) does not have to work as hard as the 150.  there is some youtube vidoes of an owner testing fury props with his 200 opti.  I think you can search fury and find it. Everyone says it is a pretty easy boat to drive, but will have a tendancy to walk a little with a 200 which is normally caused by overtrimming. Ride in one and look them over and you decide.  ;)

Im running a Z-7 with a 200 and getting 73-75. Its my first glass boat and to me it doesnt ride bad. I just got it a couple of weeks ago and it came with a 26p tempest and I had a 6in JP added into the options amongst many other. the Z-8 was alittle out of my price range and wouldnt fit in the garage LMAO. If you can I dont think you can go wrong with the Z-8 or Z-7. Nitro seems to be doing what it can to live down some of critics opinions in the past.  My dealer was the deciding factor on mine ask them for stuff they cant give better prices but can give you store cards and extra dealer installable options.  ;D

I have a Z8 with a 200 and it sees about 70 so a Z7 with a 200 I would think would definately see close to mid 70's.  Kinda wish I had gotten the 225 just for the hell of it, lol, but the 200 serves its purpous and gets me from point to point quick enough.  Great riding boats.  The Z series is definately a hit for Nitro.  I love mine.
