Hey everyone, I was just wondering what to set my standards at? If you wouldnt mind could you tell me what you biggest bass has been, or the biggest one you saw caught? :-\

Nate this is a hard one to answer with a one answer fits all, Up here our fish are smaller then the ones they catch down south. My best in Michigan is 4.1 pounds but have seen them as big as 5 and a half. If you want the state record for your state contact the local DNR office and they will tell you. Hopefully others in your state will log in their best and give you a line to reach.

Nate ,I will start this off .My biggest largemouth bass just came in on this past Tuesday for me at 4 1/2 lbs. I know others will chime in here and tell you all about their biggest catch and what it was .

Nate

Yeah, I'm in PA, and I'm only 15, and have never been down South so. I know what you mean by smaller fish. The biggest I ever caught was a 6.2 largemouth out of Presque Isle, a couple weeks ago, where I'll be fishing in the Pa state youth tournament in sept. That's by far the biggest I've caught.  The second biggest was probly about a 3-3/4 smallie out of the Susquehanna river.

I'm realy happy for him!  ~c~

Nate

Thanks but I think it was kinda a fluke, I usually just get the 2 lbers out of the road for my brother and my dad when they catch the 3's and 4's.  It kinda came as a surprise because my dad caught a 4 pounder off the exact same 3 foot section of wall not more than 5 minutes before.  I wasn't expecting to find that one pulling at the other end of my line.

Not sure how big the bass was in my avitar, the one and only bass Ive caught so far  ~xyz but judging where the length is in accordance to my arm, it was probably 12" so whats that.. about 1 pound??  Someone can figure it out Im sure... how bout it Dawg or Kevin??

Nate

yeah a pound is close for a 12'' er
CATCH 'em if you can

Sharon

Thanks Nate. I know from wrist to elbow is 12", so I guess Ill use that as my guide when weighing fish..  :)

DAWG

That is probably  I would say  ::) ??? lo ;D :) ;)  I dont know  :roll2:

Sharon

You should know, you bass fish.. dontcha?  lo

DAWG

Honestly I dont weigh them when they are that small ,but there is a formula that can determine the weight by the length and how big around they are . I am sure one of the others will know how much one that size goes.

Sharon

I didnt keep it long enough to measure, just if you look at the pic, its past my elbow, so its at least 12"... Im guestimating around a 1 lb'er like Nate said.  But, whadda I know, I was fishing for cats with a worm and look what happened  lo

Pferox

You know what Nate, I can't tell ya what my biggest was, I really don't keep track of that stuff usually.
Biggest fish I proly ever caught was a tarpon about 90lbs, wish I had a pic of that sucker, it was huge.

Ohh Hey wait, I was thinking just bass,, now we have caught some pretty big cats.. ask Pferox he can tell you about how big, and theres pics in the members gallery we posted.

Pferox

Recently we have been catchin cats less than 8 lbs, so I would say Sharon's best is about 8.
OH yea then there is that StrinRay Sharon caught, had to be at least 50 lbs, busted my butt pullin it up the pier, it was bigger than the net which is about 30 inches or so.
