Ok so I have an 2008 Xpress SV18.  On the bottom of the shaft for each seat there is a little plastic 2 inch or so piece that screws into the shaft.  It has come off and fallen into the tube that screws into the boat and holds the seat shaft.  I don't understand why Xpress would choose a setup that will unscrew but they have came off nonetheless.

I have tried to retrieve them from the tube but there isn't a way to grab them.  Now these seats do nothing but squeak everytime I use them.  Has anyone had this problem? and do you have a solution?  have you found a way to get these little plastic pieces out?

I may just have to cut the tube in half to get the plastic pieces out and then replace the tube.  I doubt I will be able to find replacement pieces for these.  I guess some loctite will hold it on.  It really is a terrible design.

I can't really understand your problem and I'm not familiar with Xpress seats.
But if the design is bad you might want to just replace the parts.
I change out the pedistal base, pole, and seat mounts in my boat for about $100 per set.
You can get the parts at Academy.
I'm in Lafayette if you need any help drop me a line.

Well I know how to replace everything.  That is a sinch.

I would have to post pictures.

I don't know what this looks like exactly, but when I've had something similar stuck in a hole, I take a small stick like a chopstik and wrap the end in duct tape with the sticky side out. Dip it in the hole and fish the piece out.

I'm meant that it might be better to replace than repair, it will probably break again.
