I'm thinking of purchasing a 2005 Nitro 750 DC 90hp from a private party.  I've seen pictures of the boat and it looks to be in good condition.  Since it is still winter here I won't be able to see the boat operating.  What would be a fair offer for this boat?  Is there any way to test the engine without having it in the water?

If it is a 90hp Opti the shop can hook it up and give you the history of the motor, you know running to many RPM's and check to see what kind of codes it has or has thrown.  Even if it's not an Opti you still should take it to the shop and have them look it over for you before buying it.

NADA lists this  Base Price boat at - Low Retail   $7,530  Average Retail  $8,560

Might want to add a bit for the Opti...the typical NADA values are not based on the Optimax...but a regular 2-stroke...at some point, it'll depend on how much a guy wants to sell and how much you're willing to pay...

I've decided to pull back a bit...since most of my disposable cash will start to go to pay the increased taxes coming our way to 'halve the deficit' by 2012...more on that tonight in Obama pre-state of the union address...

gonna run my little tin boat and High-performance  :P 40hp Force for a few years yet I think...
