I just wanted to pass on a great deal that doesn't come around very often.
I stopped in at Travis Boating Center to look at some rods and baits and Bill came right up and started talking to me as usual. We visited a little and I told him that I was looking to buy a new Crucial rod. He said that now is the time because all their Crucial's and Carrot Stix's are $20 off and Kistler's are $30 off.
Well I looked at the Crucial's and bought a 7'6" heavy/fast action w/high end fugi guides.
Regular price is $159.99 @ Travis (type A handle)
right now $20 off  = $139.99
If you go down town to buy this rod or even on most websites, you are going to pay $179.99   I know, I just looked.
I don't know anywhere you can beat this deal and have a new rod in hand when you leave.    So if you are looking for a new one, now is the time.

I was at Travis yesterday n the Carrot Stix's are $199.99 there and in the Bass Pro Catalog, they are only $149.99.

The gold's are 199@ bass pro. I was going to buy a carrot stix and tried the gold instead because i wanted the cork handle instead of foam...

I should have posted that I was talking about top of the line rods. The Crucials in the BPS catalog or in store range in price. 149.99 - 179.99.
Those gold Carrot stix's at Travis would only be 179.99 then.
I didn't even look at the Carrot stix's when I was in there, I went in to get a Crucial and Bill gave me the discount info.

good deal on the crucial. I was abt to buy a carrot stix. What is the Gold? Maaybe I'm just not seeing it in the book. Can u explain the Gold for me.
