Over the past few months I've wanted to comment on a few of the articles that have been submitted by anglers but have never found an area to comment or ask questions on them.

So I thought I'd give it a whirl here and start a reply to articles posted topic.

Off the top of my head the most recent articles I recall are by Fishaholic and earthworm77.

I enjoy Reading Fishaholic's ditch fishing articles very much.

And whenever I read earthworm77's articles I learn new techniques that I am certain will improve my skills as a fisherman.

Thanks to both of you. ~c~

If anyone else has any comments or questions, please post them here.  That way there will be an area for you to reply and also the author can come right here to this post and answer questions!!!

Silversalmon,
In 2000 and 2001 I had some opportunities to go to the nationals.  Unfortunately I had spent all my money tyring to qualify. In 2002 I began to research the ends and outs of sports marketing and sponsorship.  I basically study all that I could till August of 2004, which is when I had a friend order "How to get Sponsored For Tournaments" off eBay for me.  After I read FFF book, he filled in the gaps of info to get me going. It was weeks after the book.  But in total  I would say five years, but I made sure I was well informed on what I was getting into.

My first sponsorship came from Wright-Patt Gem City Realty and words can not describe my reaction.  I danced the jig in the driveway.  The relieve of not worrying about entry fee $$$ makes it alot less stressfull.  Happy and proud are to little of words to tell you how I felt.  I am very thankfull that I found  Scott book, cause I would still be looking for more info.
Thank you for the kind comment, I am glad that you enjoyed it.

Ricky, I found your article well worth the read; however, I did want to comment on one item in your article, the "cajun drop shot rig" - jig on the bottom in lieu of a weight and soft plastic in its normal position. This type of rig has been used by walleye tournament fishermen for over 10 years...it's nothing new to them, possibly just to hard-core bass fishermen.

Maybe it would be wise for us bass fishermen to pay attention to some of the rigs used by walleye fishermen, to gain a "new" twist or advantage over the rest of the field.

Lipripper

Fish we use them like that on the Illinois river for Walleye and sauger all the time.
