I need a report on Swepco Lake. I have a friend looking for current info. Heck, I don't even know where it is. Anyone been there lately?

I haven't been there this winter since Beaver has been doing so well, but if you need any help finding it let me know.

They have a Tourney running out of there now about every other Saturday. It's nothing like it used to be since they took the catch and release off. The best pattern I have heard of is to find shad balls out in the open and sink weightless flukes through them. I've also got a report that working rattle traps under the shad is a good pattern.

Best time for shallow fish is midnight to sunrise, but with the temps down into the 20s at night and the fog coming off 70-80 degree water that is for the brave at heart.

The new boat ramp does look really good but still really steep so if it is below freezing make sure the truck is in 4 wheel before backing, that saved me last time I was there.

If he needs help getting there, I might brave the cold this weekend to take a newbee over there if wants to ride backseat. :-* But I am not claiming to be an expert on that lake at all.......

Cold weekend and low pressure and big fish, sounds good to me. Check this article in the Morning News. The big ones are still there, should be spawning.

Just another clip from the local paper:  http://www.nwaonline.net/articles/2009/03/04/outdoors/030509outbass.txt

I really need to make the time to get out there before it gets too hot.
