i work out in the sun quite alot so i think it really bothers me less than the average person. as far as fishing in it goes i usually just make sure to bring some water and a couple powerades and of course some sunscreen. aside from that i mainly just complain about it alot :)

there is also alot to be said for fishing the shady side !!

Try eating fruits like water melon and oranges, they give you fluids and energy. Good snack too!

Thought of this one as I drove by Patoka Lake today  on the way home.  When you wear a hat, make sure the brim is wide enough to cover your neck.  Earlier this year I thought my bucket hat was protecting my neck, but since I was looking down most of the time, it wasn't!  I was a redneck from sunburn!

Eat several small snack meals instead of two or three bigger meals.  Keeps your energy up and makes it easy for you to digest your food.

I keep a 2nd pair of WileyX sunglasses in my boat at all times they have the clear lenses in them andhave sealed eye cups to keep out wind and bugs and rain best used for low-light conditions during WOT runs to your honey hole

If I was going to be out on a lake all day, I think I would definitely move the boat to the other side, just to cool off

If the fish aren't biting and it's hot as can be, put the rods away and join one of the floating parties on the lake!   ;PEP)   Be an "ambassador" for the sport.  ;D

One of my customers told me that he had a custom bimini top made for his boat.  He said it makes a HUGE difference.

IN the summer sun, I wear my hat every time that I fish.
It helps protect my head from getting overheated from the beating sun.

Even if you've been fishing for 3 hours
and haven't gotten anything except
poison ivy and a sunburn,
you're still better off than the worm.

ON a hot day, I take a bottled water.  No cooler, just the water.
It always ends up warm, but its there to help me from getting dehydrated.

you're still better off than the worm.

I carry bug repellent in my truck incase I end up fishing a spot
that is loaded with mosquitos.

I like you bring a radio in the summer, the tunes help pass the time when the fishing is slow, you get weather reports if a bad storm is coming in & a good song will get the girls on the dock up and dancing!   >:D

Always bring solarcaine for sunburns in case you forget to reapply the sunblock if the fish are really biting.

When the lake is crowded, there are going to be jerks on the water, hopefully they're recreational boaters and not other fisherman, but if they is a jerk nearby, I cut my losses and move.  No sense it letting someone else's thoughtlessness ruin my day.

Ahhh man, just missed the cutoff with this post!   :(
