Does any body know who builds the rod that locks the rod boxs down ? This one mounts on the top of the deck.

Loc-R-Bar is not that great, easy for the thief to break and will damage the hull badly if they manage to yank it.

Steve, that looks awesome, can you post some zoom in pic and describe what you did.
Thanks.
boat looks great by the way.

I would love to Alon, but that's the only photo I have right now. Once I get home in 11 days I will take some more photos and post.

Thanks I will be building one after looking at the price!  While i was fishing on the big o in south florida last month I seen alot of boats with hand controlled trolling motors with a new push / pull  extention handle. Does anybody use these and where do you get them? Alot ot the legend boats had them on it.Really unique the way it works push it for one direction and pull for the other. Thanks for all  the info

LocRbar's are better than nothing. Locks only keep the honest people out.
I've seen LocRbar's be pried up but there wasn't any damage to hull unless the idiot theif tried to pry it up wright at the gunnel.
Pipe bends steel bar bends only superman can catch bullets. A good cop that catches theives is worth his weight in gold. JMHO.

I'm sure that in most cases the loc-r-bar will keep the thief away but the ones that really wants to get into your rod holders and the other compartment will stop at nothing - they way they do it is easy, they take the winch cable and attach it to the bar and yank it out with some hull/fiber pieces . I saw it in tournament , got up in the morning and one dude had lost everything he had  plus huge damage to the hull.

I guess when a thief really wants to steal, there is little you can do. Well, you can take your expensive stuff with you to the room i guess.

I run with a Loc R Bar, and as has been said it is not thief proof but it is a deterrent. It will at least slow them down and if your boat is sitting among a bunch of boats or at least a couple they will hit others before yours.

The one BK built looks good but a crow bar will pry the screws/bolts right out of fiberglass decking just as easily as the loc R bar can be pried out of the sides of your boat.

If a thief is determined and knows what he is doing with a boat, there isn't much you can do but get an alarm system

OK, you asked and now you shall receive.....(better late than never  lo )

This first photo shows the top of the loop bolt that is fitted through my deck (one on each side)

This photo shows the underside of my deck and the other part of the loop bolt from photo 1 (one on each side)

Here's the bar through the loops bolts.

Here a shot of the hole I drilled through each end of the bar and the padlock through the hole/bar....

Finally, the bar in place.....

As others mentioned in this thread, it is only a deterant, but it sure makes me feel much better having it fitted especially as my boat is stored in my appartment car park which is open to all the residents.
