Since the AC is broke [outside] and the temps keep getting hotter, has it affected your fishing (or the ability to catch fish) in the Omaha metro fishing area?

I have fished three times in the last week, twice at Walnut Creek, and once at Prairie Rose...water temps were 87-90 at WC on Friday [7/14];  85.7 at PR on 7/16; and 84.5 at WC on 7/18.  I have caught 13, 1 (my Son-in-law caught 5), and 17 respectively.  The AM topwater bite was nonexistent, but the plastic bite is on fire.

I don't think the heat has drove the fish deep yet.  But after this week, who knows.

What do you think?

They are still biting. At 3 mile last week I was catching them pretty steady all morning. Caught a couple off a buzzbait early and then I caught them all morning flipping into cedar trees in 8 to 10 feet of water.

Heat >:D!  Heck no the hotter the better.  I seem to do better the hotter it is.  Most people give up.  I recently won an IBA club tournament at 3 mile :toot:. I caught fish shallow, mid depths, and cranking in 30 feet of water to weigh in a limit of 3 ponders ~gf.  Grant you it was not easy, at one point I went 2 hours without a bite.  It was a tough day fishing for a lot of people but a lot of people also did well.  Two others also had 3 fish limits in the 8 lb range.  Fishing in the heat can be frustrating at times, but it is also a good time to do well.  The big thing is to keep your self hydrated and focused.  On hot days I carry a lot of refreshments and always eat before the tournament.  Recently at Brushy Creek we pretty much drank everything in the cooler in an 8 hour tournament.  We had a tough day and did not do well, but that's fishing ???.  Only had one 3 1/3 pounder caught on the first cast of the day.  Pretty much the kiss of death ~fl.
