Where do I start? I could be a contender :-\

25 views and not one response. Scared ? :help:

lo I do see you have quite a few views? I watch the Vandenburg Bass Club periodically because I used to live there yeeears ago and miss the place. Not sure if they really have a club going any more or not. It seems they use this board to communicate between each other about the other circuits in the area like ABA and such. However I have heard them talk about doing a fruit jar tournament occasionally and you have to watch for those, I guess now it's obvious you are interested.

Thanks Mike maybe I need to look in to joining a local club.

Didn't want to speak for the Vandenburg club by any means :surrender: I just don't know what their club status is and didn't want you to get frustrated.

Graylight take it found me they are not hard to get set up just figure out what lake you want to do it at and give your self enough time to let others know and they will come. I run a small club up here in lower Michigan and I do 16 regular tournaments a summer and one classic.

thing to think on and do first

1. contact the local DNR office ask for any rules or conduction they have.
2. Pick a active lake in your area
3. find two or three friends to help you set it up.
4. make up a rules sheet
5 find a few sponsor if possible (prizes help out)
6. make up a flyer
      a. list when & where on it
      b. list how you plan to pay out
      c. if you want pick a charity
      d. print a lot of them
6. post flyer every where you can think of stores, local rod & gun clubs,
any place that might have fishermen show up at.

these are a few thing to help you get going if you want more ideas or help let me know in a PM and I would be glad to offer ideas. My club was all but  dead and I pulled it back with work and sweet. a few open tournaments was what it took to save it.

There are plenty of clubs, and tournament organizations around these parts.  Sometimes this comes at the expense of participation at each event.  ABA, and Angler's Choice both have more than one circuit in the area.  I think both go by Central Coast and Pacific Coast region.  These are both great groups and fairly reasonable as tournaments go, unless you elect to get in all the option pots.

look in the North Division list for Central Coast, and Pacific Coast

or

look under Central Coast

There is a board on Westernbass.com that offers some info too.  As for Vandenberg Bass Club, there are still several of us around that do a pot tournament occasionally, but tend to team up for local circuits too.  Some of us will be fishing 2009 Stren as co-anglers this year too which is an option to compete.  Keep posting on here, and I'm sure we can hook up with you eventually and spend a day on the water somewhere.  Sorry not much for replies... busy time of year.

I'm ready for another small one out at Cachuma, I should have a new trolling motor by next week.  Any takers?

I can't until just before christmas, 12-14 is out, 26-27 is ok, maybe this Sunday

TomG

Stan,

You need to let it go............you know you don't want to go 0 - 2 before Christmas.................. lo

Maybe we can get Dean in the next one...................no excuses Dean.....

I wouldn't be able to do another one until probably the end of Dec.

Graylight

Thanks guys I'll check into the ABA. Are any of you fishing this weekend ? I was thinking Cachuma last weekend the water temp was still 61 but the fishing was slow on plastics.

Stan

Okay well I'm out for the end of the month because I'll be in Reno.  Yeah, if it wasn't for my laziness and not having the net out I would have smoked you guys with a limit, mental note: have net ready and don't swing smallies that are still full of energy, or they might just flop out of the boat.  You would think I wopuld have learned my lesson on the first one that flopped out of the boat, but NOOOOO!, it took 3 fish to be lost in the boat for me to get the net out! >:( >:( ~xyz ~rant
Stan

TomG

Yea, should have, would have and could have doesn't amount to anything.  I know how you can get creative with your stories.  I lost a couple that felt like 4lbers so maybe I would have won............... ;D

I've got a couple of days off over the holiday break if anyone wants to fish, Wife is in England from 14 - 29 Dec,

Stan

20-29 Dec, how 'bout the weekend before that?
Stan

Dean

That'll be the 13th.  I might can do that pending my boat getting inspected.  I wouldn't be on the water until almost 8AM at Cachuma. ::)  Anyone for SM?  Big fish should be doing well up there (at least better than Cachuma from what I hear) and inspections are a lot quicker usually.

WIFE LEAVES NEXT DAY...DON'T THINK THAT WOULD GO WELL  ~xyz

TomG

Yea, I am not sure I would be able to make that one either.  I may still be house hunting.
