New bank and shore fishing forum now up!

I thought that it was about time to add something like this so that the folks that fish from shore can talk about just that. We seem to have several members that don't own boats and prefer to fish from the bank. I hope you will use this area to talk about your experiences and that it will help others that need information.

I won't say I prefer to fish from shore, but I'm not going to hold my breath and not fish just because no one will take me in their boat...besides, some of the places I fish you couldn't get a boat into!

I know that there are a lot more members out there that don't have a boat right now and if they want to go fishing have to rely on their own knowledge of bank fishing when they go out. I just thought that this would be a good place to talk about the things that are specific to bank fishing. I noticed that there are some threads in other boards that fit the theme of this board and I am sure that in time they will be moved here.

Like I said I just hope that some of you will get some use from this board and I am sure that there are some folks out there that are visiting the site for the first time looking for information about bank fishing

Nope not quite true fish eye fish from the shore alot. When eye go on my long fishing trips it's with my friends who have boats but untill I meet them I did all my fishing from the shore and still do quite a bit from the shore

Just to let you know, the "months" listed for articles are our archived articles. If you look about 1/2 way down the page, you will see Bass Fishing Resources. Under that is Bass Fishing Articles, Beginners Area, Bass Fishing Tips, Bass Fishing Lure Tips, etc. The more recent articles are under those areas. Hope this helps.

I think this new board is a great idea. We have lots of members that fish from the bank. There will be some interesting reading here...I just know it.

Caught all my salmon from the bank in Valdez. SLOW retrivals are the key to gettin them to hit that lure of yours. Keep in mind the tide also, floating tackle boxes are not uncommon

My best days spent fishing have always been from shore, seams since I have a boat the weather is never quite right or don't have the time to use it. Its nice if you only have a half hour just to shore fish. Just wish there was an easier way of carrying everything I would like. Sometimes I walk a mile and the tackle I carry started off light be feels like a ton by the time I get to where I want to be.

Hey this should be a great new forum. I just took the old boat I grew up fishing out of to the dump last weekend. It just isn't water worthy any longer and the cost to make it that way VS getting a newer boat wasn't fisable. While I love fishing from a boat I have been doing my share of pond and river fishing this year. This is a great forum. and I am sure will let Fishaholic showcase some of his expertise here along with other experinced shore fishers.

it's not just me...there's even a lot of boat fishermen who on occassion can shed light on the fine art of shore fishing...or wade fishing which isn't all that far away...hopefully, SenkoSam's gonna find his way in here too!

Hi, I'm new to this site. Also I'm glad to see this section dedicated to bank fishing, as I am relegated to that quite often. My boat is very unreliable. Sometimes it starts, most times it doesn't. I have spent most of my life bank fishing.
