I say the squeaky wheel gets the grease!!!  I got an email saying ATT will change their long distance billing policy to match their local by billing in advance, this would mean a double long distance bill for the next billing cycle, i called ATT to cancel my service, fully intending on keeping only my DSL and getting Vonage.  They cut my DSL price 50% for 6months and they lowered my unlimited long distance to $4/month with the bundled complete choice for $21, all in all i'll be looking at about $40 less a month with this deal and still beating what i would've got with Vonage, so i stuck with them, at least for the 6months...lol, it was so easy and they mentioned that ATT is partnered with Dish Network vice DirectTV, so i call DirectTV to let them know I'm going with the phone companies partner and their deal and DTV gave me 3 months of HBO & Showtime free, I'm still not sold because i think DISH still  has a better deal with the top 200, DVR and 3Months HBO & cinemax for about $50.  I just haven't heard much about whether folks in my area like or don't like DISH...

I hate the dish only because in the winter the dish gets covered with snow and does not work. so if I want to play on the net or watch tv I have to go wipe it off every so often. so I will stay with cable for now!

Thats interesting. I might make some calls Monday and try bein a squeeky wheel. I want to up grade from this dang "dialup" but all the deals that have been sent to us in the mail end up being more than I can afford.

If you have broadband service MagicJack gives you unlimited phone service local and long distance for under 40.00 a year.

I've seen that ad on tv. I don't have much use for long distance phone service though. I proly average 5 or 6 long distance calls a year. What I'm gonna try to get a deal on is one of those bundleing packages the phone & sat tv company's offer. The first three months are very affordable but then they hit you with the real bill.

I really wonder how good Vonage , anybody can tell me if they are reliable enough, I don't mean a few local calls and 3-5 long distance calls.
