Hi guys  I have just imported this little baby from the US of A... I pick it up in a week, I can't wait to give it a run...
I think it is an almost identical set-up to Mitch's.

ASAP i'll post the set-up details, performance numbers and any bad characteristics the boat shows.

Cheers

Thats a sweet looking ride! It's the same except the motor guide TM and mine has a saltwater mercury. I really like mine and i hope yours treats you good also.

thanks for the kind words guys, this is my first glass bass boat, over here there used to be a preference for alluminium wallyeye style boats, but now we are loving the true bass boats..

When the boat is in my possession I will be doing the following:

New saltwater motorguide 71lb
24v battery set-up with on board humminbird charger
Remove the lms 332c and install humminbird 797si with mapping card for Aus
Remove the bow mounted lowranace x47 and replace with bird 383
Install a humminbird interlink system
And I'll add a few small decals to the console and the motor cowl is going to sport a new set of decals.

When I set the boat up, I'll arrange my tackle mainly into the centre locker, rods in the left rod box, and landing net and pfd's in the right.

I will also trial the boat without the string ray foil, i know that the boat has a stainless prop but I am unsure of pitch, I will also measure the prop centre to pad length (what is yours at mitch?) The boat doesn't have jacking plate...

Mitch have you posted pics of yours on these boards anywhere?

Cheers Guys

P.S here is a pic of the species that we obsess over... Southern Black Bream

This one smashed the South Australian tournament record by over 400g

never checked the ptp on my motor since it doesn't have a jackplate. It was set up when i got it and i added the foil fin to help with the hole shot. What size motor is on yours? My 125 runs 54-60.5 mph on GPS depending on payload, air temp, and water coniditions. Also just FYI the 797SI will not work above idle speed because of the big puck that has to be mounted on the back. So I would leave the one that comes with it so you have a graph to read while running on plane.

Mine also has a 125hp merc..

thanks for the feedback Re: 797si... I have used and seen the 797 used on many high speed bass boats here in australia with no problems securing a reading at speed, maybe not always flat stick, but mine works to about 30knots at the moment (old boat), it's just a matter of playing with transducer mount...

I have a deal with humminbird here in Aus, so there is no way the Lowrance will stay... I'm interested to see how mine goes when customs clear it from the container....

Mitch any chance you can forward me a few pics of yours? I'm also keen to see where pople store what n their bass boats...

Cheers Shauno

PM me a email address and i'll take some pics with the lids open for you. Would like some pics of the area over there were you're at also. Always wanted to go to Australia.

If you get the 797SI to work while running on plane I need to know how. I was going to get one but was told it wouldn't work.

Hey Mitch, I got the pics mate cheers, gives me some ideas and nice catfish by the way...

Interested in the bow sounder, I see yours is mounted on the deck, I'm hoping I can put mine somewhere on the very front section/pad of the boat..

I notice you have got just basic sounders on your 750, are good electronics not a priority???

Mitch is yours set-up in 24v configuration? if so can you send me some pics of the battery/fuel hatch?

Can't wait to get mine, my new 71lb saltwater motorguide showed up today... new humminbird sounders and on-board charger in the next few days...

Peace out...

mitchell

If you mount it up there it's likely to get nocked off. There really isn't room up there with the TM and light to put it in the center.

The finder up front came with the boat and shows depth and temp which is all i use up there. The one on the console is a colored GPS finder and does pretty good. You can't put the map chips in it but the preloaded maps does ok. I had bird finders on my last 2 boats and they would fog up on the inside and just wasn't worth the trouble. The newest one had GPS but it still wasn't all that. They seem to be doing better since then so i'm not sure what i'm going to upgrade to next.

My TM is a 24v and i'll try and get a few pics of it for ya.

Sweet mate, I need to check out how to rearrange the batteries to 24v configuration...

I'll sit tight....

Well all the rigging is done, I ran the boat on the weekend, it pulled 86kmph which in mph is just over 54. That was 2 up with a tourney load and full fuel.  I am spinning a 24p laser II prop, which compared to yours mitch is smaller! Hole shot was fine...

I trialled the 797 transducer in the same position as the lowrance one that it replaced, got a solid read to about 30mph. I have discovered that there is a small h'bird transducer already glassed into the hull though.. as such I am going to connect this for reading when planning and relocate the sidescan ducer underneath the motor mounting area...

The new motorguide SW 71lb leccy gets her moving no worries..

Basically a happy camper...

Cheers

What RPM's are you running? I'm max out at 5250 with a 26 pitch?

Het Mitchell,

I have ran the boat three times now, tournament load, 1 up, 2 up, full and empty live well and full and half gas.

Here's what I have to report.

Firstly I have been running in saltwater with and against , not sure if that makes a difference..

fasted recorded speed one up, full well 89kmph (55.6mph)

two up with livewell full top speed 86kph (53.75mph)

max rpm was 5200

Holeshot is good, even two up with a full well it only takes a few (4 or so ) seconds to get out of the hole.

I think (depending on what influence saltwater has on performance) that for any gains in performance I would need to lift the motor slightly which would increase the WOT RPM allowing me to swing a larger prop, conversley however this would be to the determent of holeshot meaning fittment of a hydro foil style fin.

Cost (AUD): Prop $500 motor lift labour $90 hydrofoil $ 100 is $700 ( probably $300 USD) worth the 2-4mph gains?

any thoughts on any of the above guys?

Cheers Shauno

That speed sound right with that pitch. I ran 60.2 with 1/2 tank of fuel and by myself sunday. It runs great when the air temp drops to 50-55 here. Most of the time I run 57-58 full tank and partner.
