Tim

Hello all.  I've been diagnosed as being infected with the Bass bug and I'm afraid I'm gonna get addicted to putting them in the boat, so I don't know if there's much hope.  But I'm going in anyway!!

Mentioned to DAWG, you have put together a very well structured and informative site that is a valuable assett to the sport and fun of Bass Fishing.  Thank you!  (now if that doesn't win me tackle I need to switch bait) - see I'm learning lol.

No, seriously I really do appreciate what you have going on here.  I have some good coaches on the water but it'll take me forever to drain their brains.  I know I'm going to learn alot here and in turn pass along 90% of what I learn hehe.

Tim
Sittin here behind a computer when I'd rather be fishin.

Looks like we have quite a few new members here in July that are interested in winning a bit of tackle. The great thing about this site is that we don't just have the contests ;) We really send out the prizes to our members... I hope you all enjoy the site!

Third sounds good to me. Heck I'll even just pinch run if I have to. People compare my sliding style to the great "Charlie Hustle" so I'm ready.

Hey everybody, Im Clint from Shreveport, LA. I am 28 and just recently broke down and bought my first bass boat. I have fished as long as I can remeber but as I got older my dad mostly strayed off to deer hunting so I never had much experience pattering bass. I found the site by trying to do some searching on the lock and dam #5 region of red river (Clarks Landing area) because it seemed like there were too many good looking spots to fish. Then I found this site, exactly what I was looking for! I have only been registered a couple of weeks but love this site and check it daily for updates. I hope I can be of some help to people as I go fishing and contribute to the fishing reports.
Thanks for all the help so far!
Clint

Thnx, I think I might lay off the river for a few, its has been fished hard for the last few weeks. I think I am going to try Cross. Its close and full of slot fish that are fun to catch. I used to do pretty good in Brewsters pocket.

clubber

Hello all, I'm lclubb, found this site with the recommendation of cable guy. Didn't know about this contest for July and read that you had to have one post here, so I thought I had better get one in. I was kinda' apprehensive about posting at first, but it has become an easy thing to do. Hello to all out there.

MotherNature

Forums can be really intimidating at first. There are a lot of them out there that I wouldn't post on because I felt that I would be criticised so I never did post. That is one of the reasons I started this one ;) We have kept it friendly and fun and I have vowed that it will stay that way.

Welcome aboard and good luck with the new member contest ;)

The suspense is killin me  ;PEP) :suck_kr:
Just a few more days to go  ~c~ Hang in there  ;)

Ouachita

Now this is a good idea to help new members break the ice not being used to posting in forums. Nothing intimidating about this thread!  Actually, to me, not taking part at least asking questions would be like being invited to fish with a top bass club member and not paying attention to what he does to be the best in your county. I've fished a lot of decades and still have not learned it all, and because of the rapid changes in angling, won't learn it all. So I still ask questions and observe other anglers even if I think I have a handle on an issue, just in case my perspective is a little off or theirs is a little sharper. For instance, because we have some really thick hydrilla that makes it almost impossible to get a lure under it, I've recently begun Texas-rigging soft jerkbaits like the Slug-Go to make it weedless and yet plow through the slop. When the FLW Championship was finished here this month I got in line to ask Larry Nixon, an Arkansas pro, why didn't he do the same to his, thinking maybe I had a chance to improve his technique  lo. I had noticed he and several others were casting weightless, just letting them lie there, maybe getting through, maybe not. He said the weight on the nose kills the natural action, and if you will wiggle it slowly, it'll "feed" its way down between the stems.... Huh. Come to think about it I hadn't done very well slamming those things through the slop, catching an occasional bass or slab crappie. In the asking and pondering I forgot to get his autograph! But, the answer is going to get me back on track. I'm glad I asked. Most people in line just gawked and said stuff like "Glad to meet you!" and went on. Larry took the time to get serious, and I think he'd rather do that than just sign something.

So the only dumb question is the one not asked.
