The Delaware B.A.S.S. Federation Nation held its first team tournament of the year on Sunday April 20th. A total of 28 teams competed for a top prize of $980 plus the additional $500 bonus bucks contributed to the 1st place winner on behalf of Link's Marine in Newark. Topping the field of the 28 teams, Jay Walls and Greg Alexander crushed the competition and brought to the scales a 26.70 sack of fish that beat the closest competitor by just over 7 ½ pounds to take 1st place.  Finishing 2nd overall was the team of Shelton Walters (2007 National Championship Qualifier) and Mike Morris for a solid 19.18 pounds of fish. The team of Rob Hager and Dan Capano followed up the leaders with a 3rd place finishing total of 17.32 pounds. Mark Hogan and Tony Kibler rounded out 4th place by hauling in 17.19 pounds and a shot at lunker that fell short with a beautiful 5.19 pound largemouth bass. Finally wrapping up the 5th paid finish for the Upper Bay open was the team of Jeff Mandes and Richard Seamans with a healthy 16.55 pound bag. Honorable mention AND $280 goes out to the team of Mark and Lou Pecsi for the day's heaviest fish weighing 5.38 pounds. Congratulations to all.

The DBFN paid out a total of $2,240 plus the $500 Link's Marine Bonus Bucks for a field of 28 boats. Special thanks go out to Bob Moody and his Fisher's of Men Delaware division staff for providing the help and equipment for the day's weigh-in activities.

The next DBFN Open Team Tournament will be held on the Choptank River out of Martinak State Park in Denton, MD on Sunday May 4th. Registrations will be accepted at the ramp prior to launch or visit www.eteamz.com/delaware_bass for entry forms.
