Take a realistic looking, diving, floating crankbait and drill a hole through the lip in front of the line tie. Tie on and leave a long, 2-3 ft tag end. Drop the tag through the hole and rig with heavy sinker like a drop shot rig. Pitch the rig past a bed and drak the crankbait to the bed with the weight on the outside of bed. With slack line the crankbait will float above bed. slight tension will hold it submerged and gentle tugs will nose dive it into the bed. This also works throughout the season to keep your bait next to submerged structure.
