Putting some more honey holes out Railroader  don't forget where you sunk them at  lo lo
I don't know why some guys don't want to tell others what they used to catch their fish on  ~xyz ~xyz

I know exactly where he put them too.  >:D

Mike Cork

All them brush piles he is planting are going to be some great crappie fishing spots here before long :toot:

went out around 0930 till about 1300.  Jay and I boated 6.  2 of the 6 were dinks.  We only found fish on the main lake points with the strong wind.  We used lucky craft crank baits in a silver and blue shad type color.  We never got a bite in windless conditions.  It sure felt like we were on the water for a long time with the wind beating us up.  But, we had to stay in the wind to catch fish.  The water temp was 51 on my graph.

BIG PAPA

Thanks for the report.
Sometimes that wind can make for a long day.
Man iI wanted to get out there today but had grandkids , and really have been under the weather with a cold  :(
Anyway congrats on the trip. ~c~

Fished today from about 1030 till 5pm.  The wind was up and kicking, had white caps on the water!  :shocking:

Boat 7 and could have brought them all to the scale.  Red traps by grass & BB jigs off docks just kept the trolling motor on high and cast between docks & piched a jig once I got to them.  LOL

Lots of work, but a good day.  Water was from 51 to 57, very muddy I don't know how them bass live in that stuff.

Railroader

well i hope the wind will dye down a little or you will have to throw out an anchor just to fish a dock..lol cant wait to see what kind of weights will be brought to the scale? if we have a day like today..

Railroader

I was told today by someone who fishes cypress more than anybody here that they think the lake has (TURNED OVER)

Railroader

now im not sure what that means? and wouldnt know it if i saw it. but thats what they think and as much as he has fished cypress I'll take his word..

Could this be it?

BIG PAPA

It is certainly possible that the lake turned over a few weeks back when the water temp dropped from a summer high in the 90's down to a low of about 40. With the steady warming trend we have had since it should not have turned over recently. In order to "turnover" The water must first stratify into layers with the hotest on top and the coolest on bottom. At some point the cool  temps turn the top layer cooler than the bottom and also heavier so it changes positions and therefore turnsover. With the wind we have had lately I would suspect the water is pretty well mixed and at a relatively stable temp from top to bottom.

dave the dope man

I'm not calling anyone out, but I did see some members out there today. I did go ahead and buy a sticker, Just can't not do the right thing. Anyhow, Took a friend of mine out there today, we did fair, but better than I have done recently. No bites on the spinnerbait today but I did get two on a jig which makes me feel better. All told we got bit on rogue's, jigs, and cinko's, all in less than 3 foot of water no where near any cover. Water temps ranged from 53 to 57 with clarity being from clear to lightly stained. Winds were about 10 west to northwest and afternoon clouds. It did seem that the bite got progressively better from 10 till 12, that is until the clouds moved in. Again, man is the lake low..............Good luck this weekend guys (and gals)......Dave

Yep Me and Trey, Brian and Nick, Did not see Dopey.
Man the day was really good, we picked up a few small ones on several baits. Spinnerbaits, jigs and tubes around docks, some with brush and some clean. Several came from the middle of no where on the end of a retrieve. But the crazy thing was every once in a while Trey would catch a real good fish, caught a 4 on a tube 20 feet from a dock, caught a 3 on a trap in about 1 foot , caught a 4+ on a spinnerbait off a corner post on a deep dock. No telling where they were, they were just biting. Now the best thing was we got into Fogy's big schoolers about 4:30 we found some real nice schoolers, I caught 3  a 5lbr. and 2 about 3 lbs and Trey caught 2 over 4 lbs. Man would I love to have those come up a couple of hours earlier in the tourney.

Holy Cow Papa you guys would have had a 20 plus stringer, hope it works out for you come tournament day ~c~ Although this pour lake has been beat to death in the past two weeks you all should know the fish by name  :roll2:

And the schoolers did not show up till 4:30 but maybe they will be there early sun and hit a spinnerbait or maybe a c-rig
It was a fun day either way.

All shallow fish...Less 2 ft of water.

Mike Cork

:roll2: Now that was funny, looks who's talking seems like the whole club could have had several tournaments out there the last two weeks :roll2: :roll2:
