I left out of work for a bit yesterday to see how my boat was running after stump bender.

Managed 5 to the boat with 3 more on a swing and a miss, no pattern other then couldn't get a jig bite going.  Managed them in white spinnerbaits, red rattle trap & red crankbait.  Water depth was 2 to 7 foot and the temp was constent at 49 most all over.  I did find some 51 but that was well past 3 pm so not going to help anyone anyway on the 8th.

well we did not do that good today on Cyupress. Trey caught a nice 19 incher as soon as we got there and I caught a couple 13 inchers all on B/B jig in deeper water off docks. threw a trap and spinnerbait a lot with no luck. Lot of pick ups and drops, Maybe Crappie?
Trey did catch a Jack on a jig that would make Noble ( the Caddo jack KING ) proud ~roflmao ~roflmao.
water was around high 40's

Fished yesterday for a few hours...caught several fish....biggest about 3#, most on drop shot in DEEP water, couple on jig and couple on the tube. Water about 49 degrees. Most fish were 12 - 14 inch range.

I have alwys wondered how to fish a drop-shot? it's kewl that it worked. something different..

Terry and I went yesterday to sink some brush and it didnt work out the way i had hoped... one thing i learned is dont use a cooler. i drilled holes in it filled the bottom with cement and rocks and it didnt sink..lol so if you see a blue and red cooler out there its mine. i had three buckets and one brush pile to sink and we was only able to get one of them to sink? but now i know what to use so i will get back out there this week..

Went to Cypress last night in search of some White Perch, weather was cold and sleeting, water was about 45 degrees. I fished some of my regular White Perch holes and caught 11 decent White Perch in about 7 feet of water.....but while making a maintenance cast into shallow water I hooked a bass in the 6 pound class that broke off. Now I love to White Perch fish....but if ol' bucketmouth is gonna play, well by God let's get it on.....I caught 8 bass from 2 - 4 pounds in 2 - 6 feet of water last night on a Black Neon tube jig. Fished from about 2200 until 0100. The fish are about as messed up by this weather as we are I guess.

Dave I really wish I could go but after going today I have to actually do something tomorrow.
Trey and I had a crazy day! We fished deep, shallow, fast , slow, real fast , real slow, nothing, Then we get to one spot and I miss a fish , no big deal, then I catch a 2 lb. fish then I miss another fish then I catch 5 more fish in this one tiny spot in the next 15 min. all about 2 lbs. I mean they all came out of 1 brush top.
water is down to 45 early up to about 47 at 1:00.
papa :shocking:

LOL yall get all the practice in ya can..

Heck were just doing a bit of Crappie fishing and some bass fishing not practicing,  but then were not planting trees every place or trying to sink cement filed coolers either.   ~roflmao

dave the dope man

I'll be there at daybreak. And I am going to bring my drag line to displace any "navigation hazards" that may have been inadvertantly been "sank" in the lake. We don't want any dinged up props now do we??..... >:D ......Dave

IF YOU SINK IT, THEY WILL COME, thats are plan..hehe

I've never fished Cypress...Just wondering were most are launching and quickest way there from I-20...

How is the lake level also...Are there channel markers on lanes safe to run..

Thanks,
Scottie

Mike Noble

Scottie...since I'm not sure the direction you would be coming from...you need to come out Airline Drive - north of I-220, but I would not suggest Airline during the day between I-20 and I-220 - TOO much traffic.  You come out Airline Drive about 7 or 8 miles...it is where the 4 lanes end and you will turn right on Linton Road.  There is a Presbyterian Church on the corner and a red light.  Go down Linton Road until you come to the Country Corner Store (at Parks Road).  Turn right on Parks Road and stay on it until you come to the boat ramp which will be on your left.  It is a couple of miles.

As far as the lake...there are NO channel markers...the lake is wide open and you can run all over it, in any direction.

I hope this helps...if you need anything else...PM me.

Hi Mike and thanks...no problem with the directions at all...I'm a little southwest of Shreveport and would catch Airline off 220...

Thanks...I'm off next week and may try to head that way one day...Looks like fairly decent weather too..  :)

Thanks again,

Scottie

Fished Cypress Lake today from about 11 am till 5pm.  Hooked and boat 3, one on a jig, one on a rattle trap and one on a white spinnerbait.  3 different sides of the lake 3 different baits, only pattern I got was that it was slow  ~xyz
Water past the NO SKI area is SHALLOW  do not run much past there.  & I even had to use my trolling motor a few times trying to get to the pads,  hard work, 1 fish.

I told you guys we should have fished the river, at least it has water.   ;)

Mike Noble

Fished Cypress today with Mike from about 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  We put 7 bass (1 jack) in the boat and missed 4 others.  All on a jig.  Our best 5 probably weighed between 13 and 14 pounds.  Did a lot of running and looking...trying to find docks that had water around them.  Water temp ranged from 48 to 52 and the lake is shallow in lots of places.

Here is the best one...

Shawn & I fished from about noon til just before 5pm. We spent all but the last hour white perch fishing. That didn't work out at all so we put up the shiners & bass fished for about an hour.

We caught 2 on plastics. The biggest in the pic below! Lost 2 others simply because I wasn't paying attention. Both were caught in about 4 ft. of water.

I fished Cypress today also and caught 6. most came on a jig or tube jig in 4-5 ft. out of brush tops. I was fishing a grass bed about 1:00 and talking to steve (Bassbuff), he decided to go try another spot and about 3 minutes after he left I caught a big one on a spinnerbait. Steve you were not even on plane, I hollered but you could not hear me over the motor. first fish I caught was short and every other fish was a good fish.

Fished Cypress Lake today.  from about 1130 till 530.

Day started slow.  A little bird told me to use a BB jig and picked up two off on dock, they hit it on the fall and were swimming off by the time I set the hook.  Then two more hits on the same dock on a return pass but couldn't hook up.  Then nothing until, we found some schoolers!

Hooked 5 in about 20 min with at least 5 more that we lost before we could get them to the boat.  What a blast.  My Father in law got Big bass of the day with a 4.6 and we weighed our best 5 and culled the 2 off the jig for a total weight of 16.6 lbs!

What a great day on the water.
