Fished cypress last nite for third place.13.72  :(  but anyway only had 6 bites all nite well if you count getting two bite with one fish??? my first fish i set the hook my line broke at the hook. throwing  a c-rig. so i re-tied picked up a tex-rig brushhog threw back to the same spot bump bump set the hook got the fish in the boat and there was my hook and bait so far down in its throat you can only see the eye, so the same fish hit two different baits..lol i'm just glad my patterns are coming around i caught a 4, 3, and a 13in within 20mins but when it got dark that was it so i will have to get there first thing and stay put. congrats to M & M for there win. hope the momentum carries over to next week down at the grand.. GOOOOOO TCTC.. lol

Congrats to M&M and Railroad for the good showing out there. I hope to fish one of those after the UBCS. I'll be back in town tuesday and look forward to getting back on the water.

So let me ask this! Sounds like most of the fish caught by you guys were caught before dark. Am I reading this correct?
papa

Mike Cork

Papa Noble and I caught all but one of our keepers after dark. We did get one good fish two dinks and two twelve inchers before dark but culled all that after the sun went down.

Mike Cork

Them deep fish of yours can't see after the sun goes down :roll2: :roll2: :roll2:

 :help:
I'm going to go ahead and give up my pride cause I just don't understand it.  I have not been to Cypress/BB since Chris and I won the TCTC tourney in Feb.  We put together a solid pattern for Spring time.  I've been reading alot of posts lately about everyone killing them during night tourneys etc on C-rigs and worms.  I've fished three evenings/nights straight now, hitting deep points, bends in main creeks, brush when i can find it and docks with very little success.  I've thrown C-rigs, cranks, plastics, and some top water.  I know that nobody wants to give up their honey holes and secrets, but what do I appear to be doing wrong :'(?  I'm heading back out tonight, maybe move a bit south.  Any info would be much appreciated.

Mike Cork

KorkyG, Cypress can be a great lake at night. Sounds like you are hitting all the right stuff, just keep plugging away. We spend quite a bit of time on this lake lately and I can tell you that not all the creek channels and not all the docks are holding fish, if they are they stay full. Honestly I can't help you out anymore than what you probably already know, there are some fish coming deep and a few comming shallow. We did have a ball in White Oak the other day with a top water bait right at dark  ~shhh but I didn't tell you that ;)

Hey all i can tell ya is watch out for some crazy dude out in the middle of the lake , he dont use his lights..hehe i wish i could catch fish shallow will try some new areas this weekend.. some days you just have to hit the right boat house at the right time.. but there out there..

Mike Cork

Yeah that crazy guy is going catch a horse one of these days and everyone will be sitting with him :roll2:

Mike Noble

Fished Cypress last night with Mike in the tournament.  We managed about a dozen bass with 9 of them being keepers.  The water temps dropped into the mid 80's after the rain.  We caught a few fish before dark and several after dark...just could not get the big bites we had 2 weeks ago.  Ended up with 10.10 pounds, which was good enough for 3rd place.

Chris and his partner took 1st with a little over 12 pounds.

~c~ ~c~  Great Job...Looks like TCTC took most of the money again.

Better watch it & give the Benton guys a chance...They may ban TCTC from the tourneys!  lo ;D

Mike Noble

Fished Cypress last night with Mike...caught 6 or 7 fish...didn't find too much new water to fish.  Had one a little over 5.  Water temp is still running in the mid 80's.

Well i went to cypress today took the misses to get some sun and to sink my tree finally. tried my two deep water spots didnt get a bump so i didnt want to get skunked so i hit a boat house and caught two, a dink and a 13in keeper.. on a sad note i broke my new allstar rod? on a hook set? in two places? so i knew it was time to go. water temp was in the mid 80's.. glad the tourny is not this week.......

Mike Cork

sorry to hear about your rod, do you still have the reciept :-\ oh and where did you put that tree :-\

I start moving on the 22nd so will have to hurry to make the tourny..

Mike Cork
