Fished Cypress today from 0530-1430 and boated 8, lost 3 and had 5 short strikes. Caught my first 5 by 0600 on a zara spook. All small fish but they where fun. Caught 7 of 8 on the spook and 1 one a lizard. Lost one on the spook, lizard, and jig. Fish the south end only today. Water was stained and temp was 79-87. Good luck Chris and Railroad.

Fished cypress friday night i had 5 fish but one died  :shocking: so i weighed 4 with 6.48lb caught my first keeper at 7:10 on a rattle trap, next on a baby brushhog, 3/4 spinnerbait,  2 on big brushhog, all on docks. did see a few c-rigging? caught my last two at 1230am checked on the rest saw that one had died it would have gave me over 8lb's, so wednesday i might go look around and give it another try...

Brian, As far as I know, there is no dead fish penalty in the fruit jars. I think if weighing dead fish became a big problem the rules would change but I think as of right now you can weigh em in with no penalty.

Fished Cypress yesterday. This stalled front has got them scattered to the wind and not wanting to bite anything. Managed 4 small bass on brushhogs, crank, and finesse worm.

Fished from 1830 -2100 monday and caught 2 on top water right at dark. Had some tail dance right behind it like they where tring to push it with there mouth wide open. So something was going on with them.

What was the winning wieght friday night?

Fished Tuesday from 1730-1900 and caught 4 small fish off grass banks with a spook jr. Storms and wind made the water muddy and cooled the temp down to 79.

I'm going home on leave Friday for 2 weeks so no reports from me till the UBCS. See and talk to all of you down there. Take care and good fishing till then!

Fished Cypress on Friday night with Mike.  We caught about 10...a couple of good fish.  Tried a lot of new water and ruled out a lot of water.  Could not really find any fish concentrated anywhere.  Caught fish on black spinnerbaits and plastic.

Going back tonight.

Fished Cypress last night with Mike in the tournament.  Managed to catch a dozen or so with 10 of them being keepers.  Best 5 weighed 15.87, which was good enough for 1st place.  Plastic and spinnerbaits were the key.  Water temp was down into the mid 80's.
