I fished Cypress Saturday morning from 1 am till about 4 am. Caught 2 fish in about 1.5 ft of water. first was abt 3 lbs and the second was abt 5.8. Only 2 bites I had. If anyone has any information on the upcoming night tournaments on Cypress please pass it on. Thanks!!

Mike Cork

Thats a couple good fish, I bet it was a little cool out there Saturday early morning, we got to the water at day break and it was cold and windy.

Mike Noble is working on trying find some solid info on that tournament and when he gets it he will let us all know :-*

I'm not nearly as good a fisherperson as most people on this site, but I do understand that there are several key factors that play a large part in whether or not you catch fish...like, using the right lure (with the right presentation), being in the right spot (at the right time), the weather being right, and sometimes, just being lucky.... ~gf

I'm not sure how many of those I had wrong today, but it was enough...They didn't like my white spinner bait, nor my senko (junebug or watermelon seed), nor my tiny torpedo, and not my white buzzbait either...except for 1 nice jackfish, he liked my spinner bait lo ...I fished the cove across from the launch near the dam and then some boathouses and then the shallows and lilly pads and grass up on the northwest side near the bridge....

being that our little church club has a tourney up there Sat., does anyone have any suggestions?  Realizing that PM can be way different from AM, I could still use a clue...(Wal-Mart was fresh out).

Thanks...

To be truthful, the other guys I talked to on the lake didn't do much either, so I can't take all the credit for not catching much...

Interesting, the lake has been pretty good lately but I haven't been out there since the last round of storms and the front that you had to deal with yesterday and today. Unfortunately it looks like there is going to be another round of rain on Friday which will be right before the torney :'(

We were out there this past Sunday and caught a few fish with two going over three pounds. The trick for us was the white spinnerbait early, and then boat docks. Seemed like the deeper ones were better. If you find a dock that has 5-6 on the end of it, we would catch a fish somewhere on it, sometimes shallow sometimes out deeper.

Color didn't seem to matter to much on the docks, just work it slow. Hope this helps ;)

Fished Cypress today with my buddy Nate from 0730 til 1430.  We caught two right off the bat with a popper, and one shortly after a couple more on a watermelon senko.  We caught three more on a watermelon lizard off some docks, and a couple more on a watermelon jig.  I cant tell you what the water temp or depth was, cause the depth finder is messed up.

We found us some private boat ramps and tried to do some catfish noodling, but didnt get anything.  Had a couple swim out when my buddy put his hands in the hole, but thats it.  Hopefully next weekend we can get on some catfish snuggled up in there?

No set schedule out yet. But I called Jayroe and he said May 27th would most likely be when it starts.

If my partner still likes me we may fish some of those together, but I dont know?

Fished Cypress Friday night from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., caught 6 on spinnerbaits and worms.  Could not really put any pattern together, just tried some different spots.  Quite a few folks on the water after dark.

Brent and I fished Cypress today from 6 am til 1:30 pm .On my second cast with a buzzbait I caught a 3 pounder a few minutes later another keeper (small) on a Chug-bug . We went several hours without another fish and a little after noon we caught three more on docks. The fish on the docks came on the deeper poles on the ends of the docks (4-6 ft) on a pumpkin lizard with Chart spiked tail. 6 fish total caught .4 keepers (2 fish over three pounds and two about 1.25 each) Very slow day . Saw Mitch out there ,maybe he did better.

I boated 5 and lost or missed 5 more in the pads. Lizards on docks and flukes in the pads. Me and avery fished from 0600-1300 and had a lot of fun. Saw a gator swimming around not far from the beach about 1000.

Fished cypress yesterday from 0600-1200 and boated 5. 1 on a fluke and 4 on jig. Swimming the jig in the pads and over brush piles worked good. Missed one on a dock. Fished the north end only. Water is stained on the wind blown banks and clear in the pads. I won't be fishing friday so good luck Railroad. Charteses trailers are drawing alot of strikes for me.
