BassBUFF

Fished Cypress this afternoon from 1300-1730. Water temp was 55-59 depending on which depth finder I was looking at. Caught three keepers on a crankbait in open water. Got one hit off a dock on a baby brushhog. Pressure was falling but still high. Didn't start biting till 1600. Talked to a few people and got the same response, nada.

I'll probably be out there tomorrow, just not at sun-up. Hope to see you out there!

We'll be watching for you Bass Buff, swing by and say howdy when you see us ;)

BIG PAPA

Found a few today , looks like they are just about into pre-spawn as I caught some that were white  in clear water. I think those have been in deep water and just moved up. If they stay where they were today it will be on :roll2: :roll2:
Although with all the rain the creek may muddy up and scatter them. we will just have to wait and see ;D

Your not doing any defensive fishing are you??   :roll2:

Good luck & have fun

Mike Cork

Yep went out and hooked every fish I could on docks I won't be fishing :roll2:

Fished from sun up to 11am and caught 5 and let 3 ride. I won't say it was fast and ferious but they were bitting. I was hitting them shallow on docks with a jig. Did catch my first reaction fish on a rattle trap. The water all over the lake seemed to be around 50-51 degrees. See you all in the morning.

Yep!  I've gotta make a quick run to BPS, but this is gonna be an early Saturday nite.  So I'll be able to get up in time to go up there.

Railroader

fished the TCTC tourny today  ~rain, started off with our deep pattern caught a 3.8 on c-rig. fished a few docks nothing so we went up north to fish an area we caught fish out off wednesday we caught 13 all on spinnerbaits 1/4. one was caught on plastics, stayed there rest of the day until they stopped biting. at 2:00pm went back to the deep water caught a 1.5 didnt help any, and with 10 mins left caught a good 3lb or better and lost it  :'( or we would have won but thats the way it goes. last year we lost by an ounce this year half ounce?? so maybe we might win it next year. but we had fun visiting with everyone cant wait to do it again. 5 fish 14.11 lbs.  ~c~

Mike Noble

Fished the TCTC today...not nearly as good of bite.  Caught 2 on a rattletrap and one on a jig.  Wind was really blowing today, but folks caught fish.  We just couldn't find the right spot.

Mike Cork

Fished the TCTC, caught several fish but had trouble finding and then boating the good fish. I caught all my keepers on a Strike Works Jig pitched to docks in 3-5 feet of water. Had two that were 3 pounds and the other were just keepers 10 + good for third. Lost a hawg today but that's fishing. The wind was brutal today but the temps were nice. My water temp guage read 51-52 all day.

We fished TCTC also. Started on Black Bayou working docks. Caught one on jig. Many docks later, we moved to a rocky bank & caught one on a white crankbait. Fished B/B til 1pm then moved over to Cypress. Didn't get a bite until about 2:45. Got a good fish on a jig off a boathouse but lost him at the boat  :'( I'd say probably 4-5 pounds--then on the other side of the same dock one about jerked the rod out of my hands while I wasn't paying attention, I was still gripeing about losing the fish 2-3 miutes earlier. Oh well! That's the way it goes!

bassadict69

Mike Cork, Do you mind me asking what color jig you were catching them on?

I threw black/blue almost all day with only one bite. I lost it WAAYY under a dock & switched to a watermelon looking jig with about 15 minutes left to fish & lost one & missed one before quitting!

Mike Cork

The jig I like out there is watermelon. But the last couple trips I have done very well on the Strike Works watermelon and brown tipped with a Gene Larew watermelon craw worm. So your switch was right on target.

Why couldn't I have broke the black/blue off earlier?  :'(

Mike Cork

Well you should have to break it off before you change colors :roll2: How often to you change colors when you are worm fishing :-\ Folks get caught up and because you have to retie to change colors, tend to throw the same color all day and then decide there wasn't a jig bite. At least try two different colors, one light and one dark

Well now it is my turn. Water temps ranged from 49 to 52 most of the areas we fished with two exceptions where we found water temps 55-58 degress. In that warmer water I caught two very small fish very easily on a watermelon lizard with spiked tail. As far as our keeper fish, I caught both of them in the very same spot but three hours apart. the first one was on a black/blue 3/4 oz Bass Stalker Jig with a Yum crawworm that was watermelon and spiked claws. The second one was on a 1/4 Bass Stalker Jig brown/watermelon/chart with a Uncle Josh craw worm, again with spiked claws. Those were the only two weigh fish we got for just over 5 lbs.... I did see some good looking water however. Oh and the depth was less than a foot that had a little brush next to a seawall. Congratulations to the winners on thier fantastic catches on such a blustery day....good to see friends as well.......Dave and Nitro Girl........ ~c~
