Well he would have caught more fish if he hadn't kept dropping his skirt, He got REAL COLD  :roll2: .Seriously though, We had a fair day and Mike's assessment of the day was correct. I caught my fish on soft plastics in any where from 2-7 foot of water on bank lines. those of you who have fished with me know that I spike my plastics. The first two fish bit real soft and I barely noticied them, and the last fish slammed my bait, no wondering there......Dave

I'll tell you that "kinda tough" beats the heck out of "ridiculously tough", which is what it was like on Black. Unfortunately for you that had plans all along to fish Cypress for the tournament...I think you will have company from those that considered Black Bayou.

Did you have a hook on that jig? :roll2:

Noble said it all! Same for Kingfish and me :'(.

Mike and Dave, be glad that your day was better than ours.

Ron Fogelson

Went to Cypress yesterday from 1230 to 5pm

Water was 47 & stained.  Found the fish suspended 9 & 10 ft in water 14 to 20 ft.
Managed one about 2 to 2 1/4 lbs on a black blue jig dragged under them.  Worked that dock for 3 hours without another bite.  Moved to other docks all over the lake & found them all on the graph in the same depth but couldn't get them to bite.

casso

Vickers and I went out there Sat morning for a few hours. Caught a couple small fish and missed a couple as well. Saw Mike's truck and kept an eye out for you but just to cold to go driving around. It was my first time out on Cypress and well definitely not what I'm used to fishing.

Later,
Casso

Jake

Brushog22 and I went to Cypress this afternoon from 2:30 to 5:00.  The water temp was around 50 in most places on the south end and the fishing was pretty slow.  We only managed two small bass.  It was good to get on the lake again though.

I'm going to Cypress in the AM.  I will be in a black and silver Tidecraft with a black lab riding shotgun.  Come on by and say hello if you see me.  I might not get out there until 8 or 9, but I'm definately hitting the lake tomorrow.

Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and you'll never see him again!

Railroader

fished cypress yesterday  (friday). got there around 1130 only caught one in 2ft water on a spinnerbait temp was 49-51. didnt get another bite, tried c-rig, jigs, found 4ft water that was 54 deg but no takers.  i'm just hoping it will warm up a bit before the 13th. will be back sat.

Fished Cypress today from 8:30 to 1:00...put 3 in the boat, all decent weigh fish, and lost one at the boat, would have weighed put barely 12 inches.  Everything came on a jig on docks.  Met Trey at the boat ramp...great to meet you (again), and saw BassBUFF/Kingfish, Casso/Vickers (great to see you guys), Railroader, and Mike/Laurie.  A small convention on the lake today.  Water temp ranged from 47 to 49.

Yep, I fished it today as well. Great seeing everyone, Mike, Laurie, Railroader, and Trey again. I got three to the boat, nothing to brag about though. I caught all three within 5 minutes on a spring craw Diamond Shad by Stirke King. I caught mine in less than 2 feet of water on a wind blown bank. I missed a nice heathy fish today, well not missed but, I hooked it and almost couldn't turn her and then I guess I pulled the hooks out by hoarsing her. I took a co-worker with me today as well, then later her husband showed up and she got into thier boat. They didn't catch any but not for a lack of trying..Also I pitched a jig, Chart/pepper lizard, and a mudbug with no takers....temps were from 44-48 by my guage and the water seemed to be muddier than last weekend. good luck all and looking forward to next Sunday.............Dave

I went out on Friday as well, but didn't have the luck as you guys.  I pitched a tube and a spinnerbait around some docks that were 5 to 6 ft. and didn't get a thing.  How can I get in that tourney next weekend?

BassBUFF

It might have been a small convention but it was good to see everybody! I think we spoke to Dave (Nitro 882?) but didn't know who he was.

We stayed until 1330. Found some water at 50. Kingfish hung one and landed one (2lbs), both on rattletraps in 2-3 ft of water. I zeroed. My mind just wasn't working right yesterday. I spent more time getting hung up than fishing. Looking forward to next Sunday!

Mike Cork

Laurie and I fished from about 1230 to about 1430 and boated 3 keepers with one going around 4 (didn't weigh her) but it was really pretty tough. All of our fish came in 6 ft of water and scattered. The good fish came on a jig.

Brent you only need to get a partner and come fish with us. We now have a membership fee of 15.00 per member and the tourney fee is 15.00 per person.
We are always glad to have new members for the TCTC.
You might call Doc waldo as you two have something in common. (your interest in LSU) :-[

Fished cypress yseterday as well, it was kewl to see everyone again. my first fish came on a c-rig in 24ft water. thats not 2-4ft, thats right 24ft stayed off the docks looking for deeper fish it went 2.2lbs the second came on a 1/2 jig on the back side of a dock it was 1.10. caught two more in 15 to 20ft on the c-rig 2.3lb and a dink. couldnt get the shallow water to work for me but heard it worked for some. but just looking for different patterns i think there are good fish deep just have to get them to bite.. will try an go maybe wednesday or friday to check one more thing. cant wait till sunday to hang out with everyone new and old.. later

I just had a thought, there were TWO Nitro 882's out yesterday that are identical....I think we do that to confuse people.... :-\     Dave

Dave, that was us. Stickers sound like a good idea. Might make Mike N. jealous though  lo!

Trey

I fished with the crew on Saturday (sorry it took me so long to post!).  I missed a fish in 3 ft of water on a dock.  That was around 10 and she bit a black/red flake jig.  I moved back into the cove behind the state park around 1130 and picked up a 4.1 on a black blue jig.  She was in 3.5 foot of water and on a dock.  Water temp started at 47 and reached 49 by 2 PM.  I did see 50.2 in the cove straight across from the ramp, but that was only at the mouth.  I hate that I'm going to miss y'all next weekend, but I'll catch up with you next month!!!
