Well thanks I guess no tourny, but I still head out there anyways.

Mike Cork

Woohoo, I caught a couple fish tonight on Cypress. Now they were probably the ones I was supposed to catch tommorrow night ::)

Anyway caught fish on a carolina rig underneath some schoolers next to the marina. It is on a point so they should still be there. I also caught a couple on docks with a worm. So at least there is hope.

See everyone tommorrow for the Twin Cities Team Club night tourney....

Cypress was tough last night. We had 4 teams fish Cypress during out Twin Cities Team Club tourney and biggest stringer was a little over 6 pounds and they were all caught before the sun went down. Laurie and I had bites all night but couldn't hook up. A black spinnerbait fished shallow around docks produced several strikes but..... I guess I should have used a trailor hook, just hate to at night. I even had a fish pull my skirt off my spinner bait and still not hook up. If you just want to have some fun there are plenty of 12 inch fish schooling out there right now, put on a little minnow looking bait and have fun. By the way 13 plus came off of Black Bayou....

I went to Cypress yesterday from noon untill four.  Country and I caught 6 and I missed at least 2 more fish on a jig.  3 were dinks, but the other 3 were descent weigh fish (1.5-2 # each). l All of our fish came off of docks in 4-8ft of water.  We caught fish on a black/blue jig, spinnerbait, baby brushog, and one rougue fish.  Not a great day of fishing, but it was during the hottest part of the day, and it sure beats working!! ;D

Went to Cypress today on my day off.  I started at 6:30 around the state park, where I picked up a small one on a black and blue craw worm.  I didn't get to stay long, however.  I broke the rope on my trolling motor.  It broke off inside the bracket, so I was forced to leave early.  Any suggestions on how to get that fixed?

Thats a good one  :-\ I guess my advise would be patients. I have a motor guide and did that also but with some rope and steel wire I carry in the boat I was able to feed the rope. Took about an hour but we got it.

I broke the rope on my trolling motor a few months ago.  I bought new rope, got the old one out, and after figuring out that if I pulled the pin at the top of the housing...I could feed the new rope in quite easily.  Good luck.

BIG PAPA

My method >:D
Hold the rope close to the hole at the top, then kick the shee&*it out of the trolling motor and the rope falls in the hole. ;D

I got skunked again...Me & Shawn fished Cypress for about 30-45 minutes just before dark. We went to try a new prop & you know it is impossible to go to the lake and not at least make a few casts.

Shawn did catch 3 fish, real shallow, on a chartreuse baby one minus. I never had a bite.  :(

Trey

I fished Cypress yesterday from sun up until 2:00.  I had three bites all day, all on a black/blue jig with a black/red glitter trailer.  All of my strikes came off of docks.  The first fish was a dink, the second was a 3.4#'er, and the third got away before I could pull it out from under the dock.  I tried a little bit of everything, but the fish only wanted that jig.  The water temp was 69 degrees and the wind was unrelenting.

Country

Fished Cypress also on Sat. same time as Trey and cought 2 dinks and 2 keepers (2.0#,2.5#).  Lost another fish but it wasn't big enough to worry about.  All fish were on 1/4 oz blue/black jig around docks.  The 2.5# was on the edge of grass in a shallow cove.  Overall a slow day, but (knock on wood) havent been skunked in my new boat.  The ProGator will "GATOR-DONE"

Fished for about the last hour before dark this evening. We caught 6 bass all about 13-14 inches and 1 HUGE white perch. All were caught on a crankbait out away from the banks. We were working the banks and Shawn casted out to deeper water to straighten his line and caught the first fish. We backed out further away from the bank and started catching them.

I just wish we would have had more time before dark.

Mike Cork

Thats my luck BassAdict, figure it out about when it's time to go  :'(

Fished Cypress this morning from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Caught 6 total...3 on spinnerbait in shallow water, in a 50 yard stretch of bank.  One 13 inch fish and 2 dinks.  Caught the other 3 on a  ~shhh jig on docks....actually the same dock.  All 3 were 2 to 2.5 pounds.  The water temp ranged from 62 to 64, and it is very clear.

The jig fish were caught in 4, 6, and 8 feet of water.  I flipped the jig in depths ranging from 3 to 12 feet of water, but nothing.  Those were the only bites...same dock...and they did have the entire jig inside their mouth.  Color...secret...you should not even have to think about that...watermelon.

The dock I caught the fish on had NO brush.  I could not get bit on docks with a lot of brush.  Did not see any other people bass fishing.
