Well, It would have been alot better if we had a little wind today.  ~roflmao
I ended up being able to fish. Well, I fought the wind and dad fished anyway. We had a rough day catching one fish for one pound even. Congrads to Elwood and Regan. They got 4th I think, with just under 12lbs. I'm sure others will be along shortly. We only had 98 boats in this one.  :o

Hawgwild

Tuff one Paul..Just a little more wind and a few more boats... ~roflmao

Our day started OK...pard put first fish in the boat but short then a few moments later I hung a good one.....went 5.54 and was in contention for one of the B/B places but got beat out toward the end...

We caught a few more fish...short and slot and finally pard put in another good keeper in the boat....

We weighed just the two fish for 6.52......off to an OK start anyway..

Congrats to Elwood and Mike with a good string and finish.... ~c~

98 boats fished the tournament but only paid 4 places....Winning string was 16 or 18+ pounds and took 11+ to get a check....B/B was around 6.90 and also paid #2 B/B also in the 6+ range.....

Was a typical day on cross....had some with good strings but most just weighed a few fish...really don't think there were that many limits brought in...

98 boats! :o :o  The water level in the lake must have gone up a foot with that many boats out there.  Unbelievable.  I was thinking about fishing out there tomorrow but with 98 boats fishing tonight there can't be but a handful of fish left for me to pull out.....and my last couple of trips have been like Beagle's lately - tough is putting it nicely.  I fear I've turned into a good "bait chunker."

Congrats to those who found some good fish.

Out of 98 boats how many of those didn't weigh a fish?  Trying to make myself feel better.   ::)

It was a tough for sure, the wind was nasty. I ended up leaving really early. Boat was on the trailer around 6:45. The trolling motor was not working right plus since I was using my buddies boat I didn't want to do any damage with the wind. Hopefully the next one will be alot better. I should have brought a kite to fly...

We struggled as well. Wind was not a factor but couldn't get the females to bite. We were hitting about 10 fish on the head that were sitting on beds but they would just stare at our bait and then swim off. We kept coming back and the same thing would happen again. We actually were the only boat in our hole until 7pm. Congrats to Jeremy Sikes for winning the tourney with his partner. This was Jeremy's first ever bass tourney and took home around $1200 for his team.

Scottie, It was good to meet you out there...

It was a horrible day for us. We didn't get a bite till later in the day. I set the hook, and new there was a fish there, but then my line went limp so I thought I lost it. Went to pull the line back in, and it was still there. Just as I got it to the boat it rolled off. It wouldn't have won us anything, but it could have kept us from getting the big goose egg. Clint ended up with a jack fish around 8pm and then we went on in.

Jimi, I think everyone weighed fish but Clint and I. Mostly 1-3 unders for most.

WOW!!! What a night it was. We had only 5 or 6 bites and put a hook in 4 of them. All four of those 4 were over the slot with a 6.52 to anchor the winning sack of fish. Our bag was 16.50 to give us the win.

Beagle

Very nice string. This is gonna be a repeat of last year. I think UB members either won, or finished in the money in every tourney and the championship. Capped with Elwood And Regan winning the top honors for the year. After this first tourney, we already have a 2nd an a 4th.

Mike Noble

It was a tough day.  I boated one dink and one slot...and left early because I had a horrible headache.  I hope those movie folks go away before the next one...that is the worst I have ever seen the launch and parking situation.  But all the guys did an awesome job dealing with the issues when launching.

Did everyone get a copy of the new Shreveport ordinance?

I would like to thank Todd and his partner for the job they do at these things. I know it's alot of work but they do a bang up job each and every tournament. When you see them next tournament, let them know the UB gang appreciates them.

skeeter_bite

My congrats to the winners also.  We only caught 5 fish, 2 slots,1 dink and weighed two.  Got broke off on one good one  ~xyz
Even with conditions like they were yesterday, wind, parking situation, etc.  the TNT is one of the most fun tournys around.  Glad it's TNT season again!
G Loomis rods and Shimano reels!

cfrye

What was the winning weight!

We had 9 Bites
1 Under
2 Swimmers
6 Small slots
0 Overs

Lot of fun, just no big Bites

CF

abick

this was my first ever tourney...and I couldn't believe all the boats...and wind ....
Fished with my dad ...and we had a decent afternoon fishing and alot of fun!!!

boated 19 fish
12 unders
6 slots
1 over

weighed 5 fish for 8.44

the slot was brutal!!!  we released some beautiful 16.99 inch fish ~xyz
but had a great time anyways

anyone out there know how to find out where I finished???

TB44

98 teams and only paid 4 places that don't sound right........seem like there should pay atleast 10 places?

Shayne

Todd had one follow his spinner bait to the boat but that was as close as we got to getting a fish in our boat

Elwood

Mike nd I had about 10 hits and boated 4 slos 2 over and 1 under. Our big bass was 6.9 and total string was 11.80 and that was good enough for 3rd an BB.  We really did not think that we would do very much with all of the boats but we ended up with a little gas money.  Mikecaught both of the overs and I caught all of the slots and the on under that we weighed.

Last year I beleive they paid the same just 4 places. Plus last year there was only one BB pay out. They pay alot more $/places during the championship and give away some good prizes.

So much for my prefish pattern holding up. Didn't weigh a thing, I did catch a nice Goo though.

beast96z

I prefer them paying the 4 places. Then when you place, you actually get something. They did switch to two BB places though. That is new. You have to realize, participation drops rapidly after it gets hot.

Elwood

QuoteThey did switch to two BB places though.

That was an unexpected change.   ~beer~ ~roflmao not that I can complane.

All of the flyer's and post on here said everything was the same as last year.

I like the 1-4 and BB pay out, as said before, if you place you will get more than gas money.  2 BB places will be OK also, as if I had a say in it. ~roflmao  I enjoy the tournaments and will go with what ever they decide on.

They said since they had so many teams they were paying 2 places for BB. I dont think that we can count on that every TNT unless the turnout coutinues to be as strong as the first one. All I know is I was glad they did because it was an extra 294.00 for us.

Elwood

I think that if they do it for one they should all be done that way.

Todd

Well said Elwood, I think if they pay 2 bb places for one then it should be done all year long. Not like it really matters to me because for some reason, I never have a problem with catching good fish on Cross, barely catch any fish on Cross!!

beast96z

I think 50+ teams should pay to places, but that's just me.... ~bb

Elwood

I liked it the way it was; Big Bass is Big Bass.
Now that the BB pot has been split I think that it should be that way for the rest of this season reguardless of the amount of entries.  But in the end I will except what ever the tournament directors decide on. I would like a firm decision so that we would know what to expect.
