Bountiful Waters

Javelin came down and fished me out of the sponsor board and asked me to post some pics. I would love to. Here are three of my 5" Peppersticks that I offer. Bluegill, Tilapia, and Baby Bass. Bluegill stick laying next to a male bluegill.

Jay, those look great.  can you explain for our "Plastic Experimentors" how you do the different colors or some shortcuts you have come up with that help you out?

Bountiful Waters

Anytime you pour laminates, the plastic must be very hot and each color needs to be ready to go. If too much time elapses between color pours, you will get an easy seperation. The colors needs to bond. Practice, practice, practice for laminates. A 2 color laminate is easier to pour, but when you start pouring one color on top of another, it is very easy to get some nasty looking baits.

There are no shortcuts, other than having an assembly line of pots with the colors ready to go. If you are heating or reheating each color before you pour in pyrex, then laminates can be tricky and you may have some seperation. I experiment with different colors using pyrex, then once I have the color combo I want, I move to my pots. I still may only get about 80% of my pours to be right on.

if your colors seperate, is it easy to pull them apart and remelt or is it just written up as a lesson and tossed in the trash?

Bountiful Waters

Most of the time you can pull apart and remelt. I do it all the time.
