I'm sure you have all heard of Strike King's "Coffee Tubes" and I have a question, or two.
First, has anyone tried them and if so do you thing the coffee scent helps?
And second, has anyone tried pouring plastics impregnated with coffee (scent)?

Oh yea, my name is Erik and I have been reading the posts on this website for a while, and I set up an account a while back, but forgot the password until yesterday when I finally decided to get it e-mailed to myself. I have melted down old plastics and made senkos out of a homemade plaster mold, but I plan to get the "Real" stuff when I finally get some $$$. lo ~roflmao lo

the story of coffee tubes (and a few other new lures) is here: http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/fishing/news/story?page=icast_making-scents

Welcome back man. Good luck with the pouring!

I haven't heard of any reviews good or bad yet, but the season hasn't really started here either. The only tubes I'll throw are the Turbo Tubes, and I won't be giving Strike King anymore of my money for baits, they already got enough out of me for my order of "woops"y Shads this year ~roflmao ~roflmao ~roflmao
If you give history the chance then chances are good that history will repeat itself. So pay attention to your fishing because the first one you caught was because you did something they liked!

I just looked at that tube today online, I'm gonna go check it out and see what info I can gather on them.

i think its a gimick........the only coffee i use is in my thurmos.....i drink so much of it, Juan Valdez sends me christmas cards.........

next thing you know, you will have all kinds of flavored baits.....Butterscotch, Irish Cream, Hazelnut...........then they Jelly Belly will have a line of lures out.

i just stick with Anise, Garlic, Craw and Dead fish smell i buy from Delmart.  i use the oil they use in pouring plastic and dip my store bought stuff in it.  if i am out of that stuff, i use WD-40....its all the same.

i read in bassmasters about coffee tubes.it was dec 2007 under hot baits for 2008.it doesnt say if they realy work or not just tastes good to fish and help mask human scent.i havent got any or used any yet but when i read it i did take some tubes i had and put them in a ziplock bag with coffee grounds wet them down.there still in the bag i will write back and tell every one if they work or not.

caught a show on tv a few weeks ago i think it was fishing univeristy with charlie ingram  and he and his guest were using coffee lures and doing very well...of course it's a canned TV and they always catch fish so i guess it doesn't say one way or the other about the lures they were using
