Seasonal safety checks

When was the last time you took a good look at you safety equipment? With fishing season get a good start for the year in this part of the world have you took the time to go over your boat and check if everything is ready for your safety and all your passengers? 

Let start a list of things we need to check and you can add any I forgot to add.

1. did you look over each and every PFD for rips and tears?
2. do you have a fire extinguishers charged and shaken?
3. is your first aid kit in order?
4. do you have signaling items in your boat
5. are you tag on the boat up to date?
6. is you tow rope in good condition?
7. do you have your fishing license?
8. do you have your throwable on board?

11. Boarding step or ladder.

Trying to get back aboard in cold water with soaked clothes can be impossible. Some type of boarding assistance could be a lifesaver.
