Fished out of Clarks yesterday on the Red and man was it rough. Not only the wind but the water was bad.
Our tourney only had a couple of guys have a limit. Get this 95% of all fish brought to the scales were caught on a Chart/white spinner bait right against the bank. Nothing on plastics, jigs, cranks, rattle traps or swimbaits.

Congrats to Korky on the 1st place finish and Brent with 2nd and Big Bass. My partner William held on for 3rd.

The little Pro-Gator has put someone in the money every touney so far this year in this club.
Anyway, temps started out at 40* in the morning and by 3pm they had warmed up to 55*. Water is very muddy, getting better the farther back you go.

It was the Hawg Herders. I also was out there pounding away and I have NEVER fished something as muddy as it was yesterday. Only clearer water I found was back in Caspiana. I had one bite all day on a Char/Blue back DT16 after it bumped a stump, it weighed over 3lbs. I started out in the White House area but spent too long in there. Tried plastic, spinners, vibra shocks, and the kitchen sink; never got anther bite anywhere.

Congrats to Korky, Brent, and William for knocking them on the head ~b~! ~c~ ~c~ ~c~ lo

Yeah, it was like Caddo all over again. I didn't catch any fish, however I caught about a 5 lbs turtle (in the mouth) on a white crank bait.  :shocking: I don't know how he even caught it. I thought I had a good fish, then I thought I had a bunch of trash. I should of  had turtle soap last night.  :embarassed:
I really need to practice my spinner bait fishing. I don't like them but they do catch fish.

I guess I could post my fishing report.  I found some clean water by Shaw Lake and caught 10.  9 came on a chart/white spinner bait and the other one came on a lizard.  All the fish were in 1-3ft.  Water temps started out at 49 and ended up around 56 when I left.  It was a fun day on the Red given the circumstances.  Congrats to Korky on 1st and Pitts with 4th!   ~c~

I caught 2 turtles on crankbaits in Kincaid lake about 2 weeks ago! 1 in the mouth and 1 in the foot. I was burning the bait and have no idea how he caught it. That was a first for me

Fished the red Saturday with my mom as a guest.  Started out in Beehive, too muddy for my liking.  Went into White House and mom picked up a chunky 3lber on a senko.  That was around 9am.  Nothig more happening in there.  Left and went to Shaw lake. Full of boats when I got there, but very few 30 minutes later.  No one seemed to be doing any good.  Stopped by the area Brent was fishing, 4-5 boats already in the area so I left.  Went into Caspiana lake and started on the community point.  Picked up a good 3+ and shortly later had a 4+ on angled timber.  Fished towards the back a while, then jumped to the back wall and fished back towards the point...nothing.  Crossed back over to the point I started on and immediately caught another 3+ off the biggest two trees.  Ended up catching one more 3+ on a laydown near the point as well.  All came on a chart/white spinnerbait with number 5 gold blade.  Weighed 14.16, good enough for first place and second big bass at 4.36.  All fish were caught between 1-3:30.  Must have snagged every stump in the river.  Congrats to Brent on 2nd and big bass.
