I fished Hillsdale Saturday morning for bass but ended up with just as many drum as bass, lol.  I landed a few bass along a rocky bank way up the Big Bull creek arm and along that same bank a landed a few huge drum.  Bass (and drum lo) were hitting a white spinnerbait and a 5" senko.  It was a pretty windy day.  Almost all the coves out of the wind were filled with loads of crappie fisherman.  Crappie action seemed hot.  I saw lots of boats land some nice slabs.  Looked like a live minnow 2 ft. under a bobber close to timber and other structure in an avg. of 10 ft. of water.

Well I made it back home this weekend and fishing the lake for a couple of hours in the morning on Saturday.  The small bass were really aggressive.  I probably caught 15 small ones on a junebug culprit worm.  Although there were many small ones I managed to boat a couple nice ones, biggest weighing in at 4.1 lbs.  The big bass hit on a 5" green pumpkin Ghost Stick.  The nights are getting colder and I think as the bass start to get used to it the fishing will pick up.

I'm heading home for Thanksgiving break tomorrow.  I'll defiantly be fishing tons (mostly on the lake I live on near Hillsdale Lake).  We'll see if the winter bite has set in or not!  I'm crossing my fingers!  Look for an update On Sunday.

Well I got a few for ya but not much more!  6 total to be exact.  Fishing slow was the key.  During sunlight, bluegill colored spinnerbaits around brushpiles led to a couple fish but I really think most fish just weren't up to chasing anything.  The others came on a Strike King Bitsy jig in black/blue with a chartruse twintail trailer.  The jig produced a few dinks and a solid 3 1/2 lber.  I concentrated mostly on brushpiles in 4'-6' water.  I would try deeper water but the lake I fish doesn't have hardly any deep structure or breaks so I have no clue where to start.  By the time I get back after the semester is over I'm sure the bass fishing will be dead until March.  Time to chase some crappie!
