I just posted the same link..............I know I have said this before but man am I glad I will be moving to Texas!

TomG

Cal,  Keep us posted on the outcome of the meeting on Monday.  Also I think they should actually reschedule now and not pick a back up lake and say well lets see what happens at Casitas.  I  think they should just go ahead and actually make the call now to fish a different lake.........just my opinion.

TomG

Stan,  you should call Glenn to find out what they are doing about re-scheduling another lake for the May and Sep tournament at Cachuma.  I called last time and they still didn't get the March tournament at Casitas rescheduled in time.  Since you are a past board member maybe you can get them to act quicker this time.  Even if Cachuma stays open that inspection checklist will keep most people away.

Stan

True!!!!!!!!!  And I'm guessing Jim probably won't be changing the AC schedule now after all the headaches he has endured over this.
Stan

TomG

Yea, and John Barron even posted on Westernbass and said that Lopez is getting booked with all the schedule changes because of Casitas and Cachuma.  If Glenn and them don't act quick we may miss out on more tournaments.

I'M BACK, AND NO JET LAG SO FAR.  LET ME KOW WHAT'S GOING ON WITH AC AND GOLD COAST FOR THIS MONTH AND NEXT?

Dean

AC does Lopez on Sunday the 6th which is a NoGo for me.  I'm pretty much planning on April 26th at SM and June 7th at SM if those are o.k. with you.  The Lopez on July 12th should be o.k. too.  We will probably just be getting back from a visit with the family, but I am planning a couple extra days leave for practice.  Let me know if any of them won't work for you.

Stan

And don't forget GC is at Margarita on the 19th also.  Oh yeah, and by the way the GC Cachuma tourmnaments in May and Sep are a go.  Glenn said the lake will be open and that the Parks guy said that the only way to kepp the lake open is for the boating community to support the lake by using it.  We might need to use your boat Cal for that one unless I can get some kind of waiver for out of state Registration.

Dean, all the dates look good so far, Stan GC is a go as well, using my boat should be ok, I'll be working on it this weekend to get it clean and dry.

TomG

If they are as strict as Casitas half the Gold Coast guys won't pass inspection.  I sure hope Glenn plans on giving a refund if  you show up for the tournament and get turned away due to a boat or trailer issue of not being "Clean and Dry".

Stan

Cal, after the AC at Margarita I am going to take my boat to Cachuma and quarantine it for 14 days.  That will give me almost 2 weeks of prefish time for GC and that way if the wind is howling we could use my boat, plus the GPs is helpful out there.  But maybe we could take your boat out there prior to that while mine is waiting and do some prefishing.  I'll get some GPS coordinates off my lowrance and put them on my handheld.  I was talking to Tom about ABA for May but it's going to be at Naci and I'm pretty certain that Tom and I won't be fishing that one so my boat will be free'd up for May and Cachuma.  I also talked to John Newman and he said that he thinks alot of guys are going to get the inspection done early and have their boat tagged to ensure easy access on tournament day and that's pretty much what I'm doing as well except I have to quarantine mine because of the out of state registration.
Stan

TomG

Stan, did you get any confirmation on the out of state thing since you can prove you have been living here?

calincalif50

Stan,
Sounds like a doable plan.  I plan on taking mine to Cachuma after S.M. for an inspection after I finish cleaning it and vacuming the water from the carpets, bilge, and other water areas.  Hope the boat doesn't fall apart after it gets cleaned. lo

skeeterchris

Does anybody know how they will deal with out of state boats?

Dean

Talk to Stan to see if any exceptions are being made, but unless they do it'll be a 14 day quarantine before going on Cachuma.  I think the other lakes are just sticking with clean and dry inspections for now.

Stan

That;s right Dean, so far.  As soon as I fish these 3 tournaments at Margarita my boat will have to be quarantined so that I can fish Cachuma.  Five years here and they finally figured out a way to make me change my registration, they got me where it hurts!  Chris, if you just plan on fishing and not fishing tournaments this year, I suggest going to Cachuma and getting their boat leash.  You'll have to wait 14 days but after that you can go whenever you want as long as that leash is in tact, and Cachuma is close and a great lake.  But then again you will be stuck at Cachuma unless you want to wait another 14 days to get back in there!  I will have to do the 14 day wait twice this year, once for the May tournament and then again for the one in Sep.
Stan

They have me where it hurts, I'm not sure what to do at this point. I don't like to be stuck to one lake but then it will hurt when it comes to any and all tournaments. I guess it will be time to change tags......  :'(

Stan

Yep, kinda sucks, but it would take an act of congress for me to stop fishing tournaments.  I mean I love to just go out and fish for fun, but it just isn't the same unless your competing, at least for me that is.  Tournament fishing really brings out the Best or the worst in a fisherman.
