I found a way to avoid buying a custom boat cover yet still protect my boat. I simply asked my local dealer for a travel cover that would fit my boat.  These travel covers come with the boat when they are shipped to the dealer.  The dealer usually throws them away so it isn't any skin off of their nose to give it to you. They are water tight and tie down just like a more expensive cover.  They are not very good for towing and I wouldn't suggest it but for covering the boat while it is parked it works great. I have been using mine since 2003 and it is still going strong.

A great idea that I will look into here locally!

I'm guessing they only come on bass boats, not jons?  I think I have seen what ou are talking about on bass and ski boats.

What kind is it, I hope its not the plastic cover - more like the thick shrink wrap they ship the new boats with cause if thats what you mean it can scratch the heck out of the boat if not tight and  taped to the hull, any light wind can move it and mess the fiberglass and/or gel coat.
Post a picture if you can.

Can't get a photo to post.  It is resized and should work but isn't.  Stay tuned.

Egads, posting photos hurt my brain!  Maybe this style of cover is only on new Skeeter boats. I don't know if the other brands have this kind of throw away travel cover.  The top feels rubbery and the bottom feels like fuzzy cotton.  I don't see how this would scratch your boat.  It ties down to the trailer with cord.  I do not reccomend towing with this cover.  I only use it when the boat is parked.

Glad to see you have worked out posting photos......it is a bit difficult, but you'll soon get the hang of it.
