When you snag a VibraShock...

When you snag a VibraShock, or any other chatter-style bait, do not sling-shot your rod down to it... the little clip you tie your line to will get jammed into the top guide...     Then it takes 10 mins. to get it out

I'm not sure what this method is called when you sling-shot your rod to your lure, but this is how you do it.

1. Get within about 12' of your snagged bait.
2. Grab the line right above the reel.
3. Grab the line right below the first eye-guide and let go of the line next to the reel.
4. Your rod will shoot down the line, knock the snagged bait free.
5. Pull your rod back up using the line..
(If you are too far away, your reel will get wet )

With the cost of todays high priced rods it is far more cost effective to leave this old trick at home and eat the cost of the lure instead of risking rod damage or loss of your whole rig. When snagging a VibraShock, give a steady pull until the hook begins to staighten out and release. The light wire hook can easily be bent back into shape with your fishing pliers and there is no damage done. I know the technique you are talking about and when practiced looks pretty cool when executed in front of your buddies, but, it is by far the easiest way to bust a rod tip outside of slamming it in a tailgait

What I do is tighten up the drag and get the line tight, then I either flip the bail really quick (becareful though as the line is under alot of pressure and can get you in the hand) or release the button on a bait caster.  A lot of times the shock will rip the bait out, I used this a lot when I was fishing on the coast off piers when I would get hung up on the pylons.

This tip that Karl has passed on I've been using since my very 1st vibra shock.

I've only lost a very few, one on a cable way up under a dock and two or three while fishing with Mike Noble.  Most times it comes right off with out an issue.

Noble has said many times hold on we'll go get it, but by then I've got it lose.

I don't always use this method, just when baits are really snagged and can't get the boat closer...  I didn't think about damaging the top guide, but I guess it would.  Most of the time I can just shake them lose, but when I can't this is what I do..

Why mix Karu baits with all the others..
No seriously, its a great idea for organization and quick go-to ability.
We all know the quality of your product. Why not group all Karu stuff together allowing us to quickly know what's in the box.
Sure we can organize that way right now with any box etc...but it would be more fun with a Karu Label on it.

I don't think you want a vibramite box you might want to keep them seprate from each other.
