Fish attracter

I talked a couple of weeks ago about using laundry baskets for a fish attracter.

Here is something even better,, a laundry hamper, this one cost $7.00, I used aluminum wire to secure the top, and just a rock to hold it down

Minnows find refuge in the hamper,, the fish actually chase them in there, then wait until one comes out,, they can see them, but can't get to them,, I have seen a ball of minnows in these after just 24 hours, with crappie and bass circling it, of just waiting. Place one of these in a spot where there is no structure,, and fish will hold here

Coolest idea! I will try this next year at UB & NAFC group club meets.

Do you bait yours before sinking?  If yes, what kind of bait have you found to work the best?
Do you ever place brush around them as well?

I have a better idea throw the cat in the thing and don't feed it for a couple days. Bring it to my house and we will take it to a field. We will then put a dish of catfood outside of the basket so the cat starts whining. We will call coyotes from miles around. We can hook up a ball of fur on the wiggle rig and use it as a decoy. Now you have a product that catches fish and doubles as a coyote decoy

Not necessary to bait it, no I don't put brish around it,, it's not needed,, and it's jsut something for you to snag,, this thing is almost snag proof

I like this idea alot. And if you put the cat in it near my lake it would attract alot of gators

Where did you find that type of hamper?  I've tried other shapes and styles but not that one.  You may be able to run a 2-3 inch pvc pipe through the top and add plastic bottles for a tree effect.

great tip...another thing to add to this would be to take a can of dog food and poke about 5-6 holes in it with a screw driver.

the dog food will slowly breakdown and keep attracting bait fish for a long time
