Alot of folks gave some positive feedback to a tip I posted in the Boating Safety thread http://www.ultimatebass.com/bass-fishing-forum/index.php/topic,35336.0/topicseen.html , so I thought I would enter it here, I don't have too many of these when it comes to fishing.  So here it goes

i usually leave a rope tied to a clevis in a loop, the loop rides in the boat out of the way but if i fall over i can reach it and the loop hangs to where i can get a foot in like  a stirrup, it will help you pull yourself out of the water, not the best but cheap and effective.
This works best for me on the rear since the back of the boat is lower to the water and the deck is flat.

There were ALOT of other good tips for your personal safety, especially the tip on train the way you fight, you don't know your safety plan is effective unless you try it out.  Just make sure someone is with you in case it doesn't work the way you thought.

Great tip for those that dont have a new boat with the ladder already installed and even the new boats with ladders if its cold and you cant swim to the back.  Good job! ~c~

Great add to tips forum - one of those tips where you just have to say Why did I not think of that.  :-\

Great tip. Here in FL I'd also reccomend a large gun at the end of the rope to shoot the gators when they swarm for ya when you go overboard!  ;D
