Got on the water about 4:30pm and there was only 2 boats and a Jet Ski on the water.  The Jet Ski was leaving.  I though Alright either everyone is at home or fishing some were else.  I found out why.... :bang

Fished 10 " worms and sizmic toads in the grass, no takers.  Cranked the outer edges and Jigged 'em, worked a fluke.  Even threw the kitchen sink...It wasn't until I went to a set of boat houses that I saw one reason why they wern't biting in the area.  They had sprayed the grass.  ~xyz   I noticed two large fry balls around these docks but no fish.

Water temps were in the upper 80's
Water depth 2-7ft.  Slight stain.

thats sucks. why where they spraying the grass that close to the lake?

CouchTater

They spray the Hydrilla to kill it out.  Mostly around the boathouses and docks. TVA doesn't do it, private contractors that the land owners hire.  They have a big "harvester" boat that cuts the hydrilla too.

They sprayed the Hydrilla back in June.  The Milfoil seemed to had died out also.  The picture above is of Hydrilla that is starting to mat out.  Were my boat was sitting was in 4-5ft of water with about 3 ft of Hydrilla in it.

No prob POE, if you ever have a chance to come over this way let me know.  Hydrilla and Milfoil are two totally different animals.  The bass prefer Milfoil but nowadays finding a good patch of Milfoil is nearly impossible.

We got hit in a storm up on nickajack last night. Big bolt of lightning hit right in front of us on williams island. We felt it come thru our rods and shocked us alittle. We took off down to baylor school thats on the river there and pulled up under the bridge that goes to their football field. We roped off under there till it passed then the bite was completely gone. We need the rain up here bad tho.
