Hello,
Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Steven Miller and I am a student at Murray State University in Murray, Ky. I fish on Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley numerous times a week. My major is Journalism and I am the Outdoor Columnist for the school newspaper. I also work part time for FLW outdoors Magazine In benton, KY. I hope to get a full time position in the field of Outdoor Writing upon Graduation. I am also a member of Murray State Bass Anglers. The only sports team to bring a National title to the MSU.
Originally from Lake Zurich, Illinois I have worked for Ed Shirley Sports, Fishing tackle specialist in the chicagoland area for the last 7 years. We closed are doors this spring, but we are working on opening a new store called International Angler. It will focus on fishing around the world and sell hard to find lures.
Msu Bass Anglers are making a trip to Lake Lewisville in Texas this September to fish in Fox Spoerts National Collegiate Championship. We are sending our top two teams in the club. Me and four other guys hope to defend our title. We are currently ranked 10th in the Nation among college bass teams.
I am writing to this community because I see the dedication and commitment to promoting the sport among its members. We are faced with a problem of funding this year. The Club is recieving no help from the University, which is Ironic because we are responsible for bringing the other National title to the school and the primary reason MSU was voted among the top Universities to attend for students who love to fish. Also, any winnings will go to the Universities Scholorship fund, and not to the club or it's Anglers. It is a pretty raw deal if you ask me, but we still want the opporyunity to go and compete and prove our talent.
Help from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Whether it is small donations, lures, or simply good luck wishes. The tournament will be televised all three days, and we will patches and recognize our sponsors throughout the competion. We know this is hard to do on our own, so we are asking your help. Here's some info on our Club abd the Anglers going:

Previous National Tournaments:

2006:"This year at the ABA National Championship Murray State University was crowned the best of the best.  The championship was held on home water for the Murray State Bass Anglers.  They showed and made it known that they were there to win.  It was announced that this would be the last year the CAST program in ABA and Murray State wasn't going to let any other school take that prize away.  Murray State can now say they are the National Champs, at least in fishing anyway."

2005: "This year's American Bass Anglers Nationals will be held in Louisiana on the Red River.  The top ten colleges in the nation are eligible to take their top five anglers.  This year Murray State will be sending five guys to nationals the first week of October.  Those Five guys are, Brandon Boone, Scott Duckworth, Kirby Watts, Michael Lane, and Don Chalk.  We wish all of these guys good luck and congratulations.

The guys are back from nationals, and they represented well.  All 5 placed within the top 15 in the nation.  Congratulations goes out to Michael who placed first at the tournament.  Below are some pictures from the event.  Again, congrats to all of the guys who went."

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.
